Dear Community,I write this down as an example. It is quite obvious that we are all not the same kind of people. We do indeed have our differences. We have arguments and quarrels. While some of those are justified, others are childish. All of these have one in common: They can be ended. I was pretty much sure, that the feud between me and Paul Fowler will continue until one of us leaves.I am now pretty happy that it didn't come so far. He has taken the first step and put an end to it and I am pretty happy to accept peace. Whilst we had our differences, it was possible to work them out and do a new start. It is just possible by talking and maybe even moving off a certain position just a little bit. Now, this is but a little bit, but it definitely helps to bring a bit more content and peace to this community, which I definitely learned to like the years I have been frequenting this forum!Maybe others follow this and try to talk to their "opponents" and bring a bit more understanding to this community. Let me finish off this post with this sentence, which I like very much!"If we could all meet face to face... We would
all see each other in a different light than on the forums."Cheers!Sebastian

RE: Peace...

HERE HERE!Glad you posted this Sebastian.I do think that personal communication between any of us before trouble erupts is a great habit to get into. Now that I know where Sebastian is coming from, I deeply regret the feuds all together. Understanding each other is 90 percent the battle.Lesson learned.Paul Fowler

We will all have differences but its how we approach those differences that count.I had an old friend of mine before she passed away tell me one night in our long talks to never prejudge people and accept them for who they are. One I like is Engage brain before opening mouth, or on the net before typing. Just Rollin Down The Tracks

Don't worry...I love/hate you all equally. Peace – image 5(That's just my way of saying that I hope people don't take me too seriously, I like you all and respect all of the modellers out there and hope I don't tread on anyone's toes when I bring up issues I can see. It's all meant to be constructive.)Peace – image 6"The F59PHI and Genesis are the lamest excuses for locomotives Amtrak has ever operated - accept it and move on. Hug an F40 before it's too late!"

I too have had the odd argument with Paul as most of you know. I am more than willing to put differences aside and get along . Besides...we all have that common interest of trains that draw us together as one.Great post Sebastian!! >Mike Forster<

What is peace? Let me share what I've been going though...Deep down, each us wants control over events *we* cannot control. The lack of control upsets us because the only thing we *can* control is ourselves.Deep down, each of us would like it if everyone else would *change* to fit what *we* call acceptable. To stop making waves, to stop expressing personal opinions unless everyone agrees and to just all get along. But we can't change others... we can only change ourselves.Peace is the realization that you can't control others and you can't change others to be what you want them to be... You *can* quietly control and change yourself... all by yourself... with no help from *anyone*. Once you accept the fact that you alone are in control of your own destiny... life is good. All those little things stop bugging you somehow. You can actually start liking who you are... beholden to no one for the result.Oh, and a good sense of humor is worth developing too.Pete Willard
