Where was my camera when I needed it !!!! Tucson electric power has a generating plant just south of town off of I10. 4 BNSF Dash 9's and 1 unit painted in the old SF scheme, couldn't tell what unit it was it was working behind the coal unloader. About an 80 car coal drag --- this is UP territory man!! I guess there is a firt time for everything.
BNSF Probobly had trackage rights over UP. it isnt uncommon. I see UP on BNSF trackage all the time but that is in illinois. The Metra Commuter Bi Levels are now released. Look for them in the file libraryCentral Illinois Locomotive Works Founder CILW's Web Site is http://home.insightbb.com/~rkelsey/wsb/html/view.cgi-home.html-.html
I've been here for 37 years, as I said this is a first. This is UP's southern mainline to El Paso. I'm guessing that the coal comes from an BNSF area. They may have decided to just leave the units on the train with a UP road crew running the train. I know they do this with on of the CSX hotshots

I use to live on Ft. Huachuca, and although I never saw them, BNSF does indeed have trackage rights from Deming NM to Willcox and Tucson AZ to supply coal to the power plants at those locations. Chris Bogley Syracuse New Yorkwww.msnusers.com/cnytrains www.msnusers.com/ashleyphotography
