2 questions actually.No. 1: Do you have to have permission to use a .gif from another site in your posts? No. 2: Do you need to have permission from Microsoft/Kuju to upload a repaint of a default loco?

RE: Copyright Question

Thanks. Now if I can just learn how to repaint it'll be fine. I by accident opened my .tga files with MS word instead of paint or something.

RE: Copyright Question

Actually, could someone help me with this as well? How do I repaint? How do I get my .tga files to be opened with paint instead of word? I have pretty much nothing else to post about.

RE: Copyright Question

In order to edit .tga files directly, you will need either an expensive graphics editor or a free program like QFX-LE (http://www.qfx.com/sharewar.html). These programs tend to be a little more difficult to use than Paint or ImageForge. I think the more powerful version of ImageForge can edit .tga, but I am guessing you want to stay with free (the free version of ImageForge is an excellent editor for more common file types).
What you can do is use Paint or ImageForge to do a .bmp file which you convert out of tgatool, then convert less the alpha channel with tgatool back to an .ace file.
Hope this makes sense and is helpful.

RE: Copyright Question

If you want a powerful and completely free image editor, try the Gimp. It's released under the GNU License. Although it's too powerful for me, so don't ask me for help on using this...You can download the GIMP at http://www.gimp.org
