Train strikes woman's car
Police say woman will face OWI,
trespassing chargesBy BRANDON LORENZ - GM Today StaffJuly 29, 2004WAUKESHA - A 24-year-old Waukesha woman could face charges of operating a
vehicle while intoxicated and criminal trespass to property after driving
her car on a set of railroad tracks in the town of Waukesha, the Waukesha
County Sheriff's Department said. The woman called the department from her cell phone while stranded on the
railroad tracks at 4:07 a.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Robert Doffek of the
sheriff's department. The woman had apparently first called her parents
before calling 911, Doffek said. The crash happened along Benson Road, said Doffek, who added the road
dead-ends near the Vernon marsh."It sounds like she was down at the end of Benson Road and started to drive
down the tracks," Doffek said. The woman allegedly drove down the tracks for less than a mile before she
became stuck on the tracks, Doffek said. She tried to turn the car around,
but was not able to do so.The train was headed northbound on the tracks and struck the woman's
two-door 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier, Doffek said. The woman jumped out of the
car as she saw the train come around the corner. She was not injured, he said.Doffek said he was not sure how severely damaged the woman's car was.
Neither the train nor the tracks were damaged by the crash, he said.Doffek said he would not release the woman's name until she has been
charged. She was alone in the car at the time of the crash, he said.
Of course, da Freeman is screwed up too...they must have been a passenger
in the vehicle. This is in the Town of Vernon..... not the Town of Waukesha.

Luckily this woman's state of impairedness was at a state where she was able to make phone calls for help.

RE: Train strikes woman's car

don't drink and drive. side effects may include going crazy and going on tacks! and loosing your mind. that would suit a women that is drunk and is on the tracks. Dumb to drink. Stupid to not ride with someone else when drunk

I bet there is a 90% chance that she'll sue the railroad for failure to post signs warning not to drive on the tracks and win...
