Jan-24-02, 04:22 PM (EST) "Best type of Memory, and memory cooling" Afternoon I was wondering...since there are still brands of Memory out there, what is the best bang for the money? The current memory in the computer is 256MB DDR SDRAM by MicronPC. I don't overclock the computer, so I don't think I'll need any extra cooling. I heard Crucial Memory is good (a MicronPC company) but I wanna hear some other opinions. I'm upgrading to 768MB DDR SDRAM, the mainboard is a Gigabyte GX series, 2 DIMM slots, and is running a AMD Ahtlon 1.2 T-Bird processor. Thanks alot.Brian E. Bundridge

DDR (Double data rate)
I think you have DDR.Derek EngMod@leder.com.au Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-26-02, 03:27 PM (EST) 6. "RE: Best type of Memory, and memory cooling" I decided to get a 512MB DDR PC 2100 stick $179.99, and a 256MB DDR PC 2100 Stick $83.99 Chris - As for memory cooling, I think I'll take the computer to the "Cooler Guys" in Bellevue, WA ( http://www.coolerguys.com ) They have all kinds of cooling solutions at a affordable price range. With the new DirectX 8.1, and the Nvidia 23.99 Drivers...The frame rate doubled up with the 2 Dash 9s, 20 Intermodal from 45, to around 58 on the Central Wisconsin Route South of Lodi. Can't wait to see what it is like with the new memory.Again, thank you for your help.Brian E. Jan-26-02, 08:01 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Best type of Memory, and memory cooling" Thanks for the reply, I'm currently using the 23.11 also. I noticed that the GeForce4 cards have been announced, and can already be pre-ordered. Some of the new GeForce4 cards are in the $100 range, expect the GeForce3 cards to come down dramatically.
