Reminds me of the old joke.... Engineer calls the dispatcher and asks him for the correct time of day. The dispatcher asks the engineer what line he's working for. The engineer asks what difference it makes who he works for. The dispatcher explains that if he works for UP it's 4 o' clock PM.... if he works for BNSF, it's 16:00... if he's a CSX man them the big hand is 12 and the little hand is on 4, and if he's with Amtrak, it's friday.
Unfortunately, that probably is the correct indication, Koz.The eastbound regularly runs 11-12 hours late by the time it hits El Paso, promting Amtrak to get out the rubber tired superliners to get passengers connecting to the Eagle to Ft. Worth to catch the Eagle, since they no longer hold it in SAS awaiting the late Sunlate Limted, which would in turn make the Eagle late, and then you run risk of passengers missing connections in Chicagoland.Edit because I can't type for beans this morning.Bradley Linda Waco, Texas
>It actually ended up in la 49 and a half hours late. Got it from a very reliable source that it was actually annulled somewhere in Texas, the passengers were bussed to their destinations, and only the crew occupied the train just to get the quipment back to Los Angeles to resume service on its next schedule eastbound.
