I had to reinstall train sim on my desktop. Now when I try to play it. It will go to the point where it says loading when you start it up. Then I get the dreaded error message that says train sim has to close because of an error. Does anybody have any ideas as to what might be causing this. Tim Swearingen

RE: I need some help!!!

One thing I did forget to say was that I also had to do a system restore on my computer recently and that might have something to do with it. I might have ripped out a downloaded file I needed to make it run properly. I have the intel 82810 chip in my computer and it has caused problems in the past. Thanks in advance. Tim S.

OK I tried to uninstall and reinstall it. I get the same error message on startup. I did notice I'm also getting an mprofile message as soon as I hit the train sim icon to start the game. Tim S.

It maybe that trainsim, your video card and directx are not "talking" to each other. I would first of all reinstall Directx, if that does not cure it, then reinstall your video drivers.Beer is not a matter of life and death. It is much more serious than that.

Hey Tim are you any relation to the noted saloon keeper, Al Swearingen played by Ian McSwayne, on the HBO series Deadwood? Chuck Schneider

RE: I need some help!!!

OK guys I think I'm getting closer to fixing it now. I looked at the error report that I'm getting and all the errors seem to have .dll behind them. I believe that has something to do with DirectX. I tried to reinstall DirectX 9.0b but that didn't help. Any of other ideas. BTW I'm only 32 years old so no I didn't live in chicago 40 years ago. As for as the bar keep is concerned I have no idea if we're related. Tim Swearingen

RE: I need some help!!!

OK guys I'm ready to give up on it . I've reinstalling DirectX two times and I've reinstalled Train sim three times. If I knew what the video driver files are named I would reinstall them too. But I don't have a clue as to what they look like or what they're named. Tim Swearingen
