Jan-23-02, 07:31 AM (EST) "New official MSTS content coming soon" I was taking a look at http://www.kuju.com/ and I noticed several job positions available "within the Microsoft Train Simulator francise". Do you think they are working on an add-on? Or is MSTS 2.0 in the near future? At least we know they haven't killed the sim yet.Brian

Or is MSTS 2.0 in the near future?Well, according to what the Microsoft guy who used to post here said, MSTS 2 won't appear in at least a year (as rewrite of just the game's engine was supposed to take about 17 months) So, perhaps they're thinking of releasing some add-ons, like that recent British loco of theirs?EDIT: then again, considering it's programmers and level designers they're looking for it could be something different. maybe even a new route with working turntable... :s Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

In fact, if they are just starting to look for people to hire, that tells me that whatever it is they will be working on will arrive LATER rather than sooner.I would have hoped that Kuju would have been starting MSTS 2.0 as soon as designers freed up from the previous version. b) the number of members on this board are a tiny majority compared to the hundreds and thousands that bought it.If anything, M$ needs to be made aware that they can't get away with releasing completely unfinished software as with MSTS v1. I'd also assume that M$'s marketing guys are smart enough to know that the product needs a lot of work before it can increase it's mainstream appeal (which is what will really secure the future of the franchise). I like MSTS, but I think a corporation headed by the world's richest man, and with a worldwide monopoly on computer operating systems (not to mention internet browsers, and, increasingly, office applications), can afford to develop their product a somewhat more than they have in this case. He stated fact.I agree with him.I love MSTS but it is a known fact it shipped incomplete.Why doesn't the turntable work,why were there so few driveable locomotives,why is the texture mapping on the ones that did come with it so user unfriendly ?I'm patiently waiting on a patch (most companies post them when things need work) but MS history dictates it probably won't come,instead there will be an all new $50 version 2 released.Will I buy it ? Probably,because of my love of trains.It doesn't matter who released train simulator,whether it be MS,ID or any of the other companies,it still has issues that need looked into and corrected.Don't jump the gun and accuse people of bashing when they are simply stating fact.Freddie A.
