CSX's Huntington Locomotive shop has a "mover" that brings locomotives in to and out of the shop It has rubber tires, but it also has wheels for the rail..it's is kinda like Hi-rail truck. and i think that it is made by Railking. Here is the link to a site with some photos of them..http://www.railroadtrader.com/railking.html "Sleep like a kitten on
Chesapeake and Ohio Lines"**Thanks Chessie system Photo Archives for the pics!!!

Kinda reminds me of the cheap crappy model trainset locomotives that compensate for their low weight by having rubber bands around the wheels for traction.

Looks like it was spliced from a speedster, a tractor, a semi, parts of a switcher, and some other vehicles.

RE: Rubber-Tired Switchers!?

IIRC, the PRR switchers were originally designed so the operator didn't need to steer on straights. That's why the early tires have that groove in the middle.
Right before I got into trainz, I recieved plans from www.trackmobile.com with a liscense to build their latest Rail Mover for MSTS. I still have an early Gmax version of the truck floating around but have unisntalled GMax.If anyone wants, they can finish it. Just email me at magicklocoworks@yahoo.com It's also animated. (or intended to be) using the pantograph key.
