Hi All; Would someone mind giving me some coaching with the use of jEdit. After loading a wag or eng into jEdit, what function is used to actually find open brackets? Please post here or contact me at cb.fowler@shaw.caCheers. All; Chuck F.
Chuck, Not sure about jEdit as I don't use that editor, but engmod 2.0 has a function that checks for bracket pairs. Engmod can be found in the file library.Take care, Rich S.
Giday Chuck,After finding out which files have unequal braces with EngMod.With jEdit, just take the cursor over the first brace and a line 'may' appear down the LHS which will take you to the brace pair. If the line does not appear it means that the brace you are on is part of the unbalance. In this situation I would either go down the file or go to the end of the file and work up.As far as braces go, the wag files are in a single part, eng files are in 2 parts, sms files are in multiple parts.I have found that its best to have a look down a 'good' file to get to know the layout of the braces before making changes to a bad file.Be aware that EngMod flags braces in the comment lines as well as the real lines, in cases like this there is no 'real' error.
Thank you both for the suggestions and info. Unfortunately, I am one of the few who cannot get EngMod to install properly, as I have no C:\ Drive.I'll have to just run jEdit over all my files to find the errors. Thanks, again. Chuck F.
