I could be wrong, but I believe someone is pushing onwards on an NEC extension into New York City, but I'm not quite sure if he gave up, or if he's still working on it.--The FBL Commuter Edition!!!!!!---You can never have too much inner beauty. Or socks. -Matt, 3:25am-Why are we here, and what is our purpose? That, my friends, is the everlasting eternal question. That, and, where's the Honeycomb Hideout?-Creating Pac-Man comics for the humorless people out there
I'm working on NYP, as it is the endpoint of Amtrak's Empire Service, which I'm modeling. These trains only use part of the station. They can only get to the NEC part by making a reverse move, so the NEC will not be a big part of my version. Most of the NEC trackage will be hidden in my route.I posted screenshots of the area in the Route Design fourm a while ago. I explained that most of the NEC is separated from my route by retaining walls, and that you would have to reverse through an interlocking to get to the NEC on my route. The person that was working on the NEC extension replied a few times. Also the screenshots shown were my first draft. I have much more information now, so I'll be redoing the NYP trackwork.
Modeling CSX, Metro North(ex CR, PC, NYC) Hudson Line, West Albany to New York Penn Station, 150 miles. Mainline 100% complete.
Here is a link to a diagram of NYP. It is a little dated, as it does not show the Amtrak Empire Service Connector, which was built in 1991 and is a part of my route. Looking at the diagram, it would come into the former A Yard. If you can find my screenshot, you will be able to compare my version to this diagram. This is the only map of NYP that I could find on the internet, so this is what I'm basing my MSTS version on.
