Jan-18-02, 11:43 AM (EST) "Every kids dream come true..." hello, today my school caught fire and half of the school is shut down. So basically it's a kick back day today. They believe it was arson, actually it's about a 90% chance of that since the school was all tagged up, and they found gloves by the "crime scene". oh well just thought you'd like to know. Now something interesting has actually happened in our dull high school lives. too bad they didn't shut it down, i hate it here. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-18-02, 12:09 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Every kids dream come true..." Tell you what, I'd much rather be in school then working. School is a cake walk compared to life after it. I assume by your comment your in high school versus a teacher. Wait to you get out of school and dealing with the pressures of a job, family, bills and so on. Many days I wish I could take what I know now and go back to being 12 and have my biggest worry be what toy I am going to play with!Don't rush to get out of school.David Klemm

Jan-18-02, 12:25 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Every kids dream come true..." I hope no one was hurt? Being from Canada, I'm amazed at what American kids have to put up with at their schools. Metal Detectors, gangs, spray paint, etc. And then you get home and you can't even watch South Park because it's rated '18+'. Give me a break! My hat's off to you my boy for getting through it atleast. It's the kids who will make the 'virtual worlds' alot better than what their parents could do with the real one. Keep smart and keep smiling. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-18-02, 12:30 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Every kids dream come true..." LAST EDITED ON Jan-18-02 AT 12:56 PM (EST)na nobody was hurt, i'm sure some of the animals in the science lab were killed. Also the only damage to us, is probably going to be from inhaling all those fumes. I think we still have espestis in our school, but i'm not sure. the fire happened before school hours, it was set by a South East SD gang. And as to the resonse to the metal detectors, well where i live only some of the schools in San Diego have Metal detectors, mine doesn't, but we have the gangs and grafitti, etc, no school shootings yet, we leave that to the Grossmont School District. also I've been watching south park since i was in eighth grade, and it still cracks me up. here's a tiny report on it, http://www.primenews.com/sdhn2.html#aa it's right below the marine memorial pictures Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-18-02, 01:59 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Every kids dream come true..." What's all this got to do with train-simming and railroading? Also is espestis anything like asbestos. From what I have observed on this website, newgroups, and many other websites, apparently they don't teach spelling in schools anymore. I actually heard that in a report on TV a couple of years ago.Anyway, to keep on a railroad theme, I am going to see the Union Pacific Olympic Torch Train next week. Hope to have some pictures to share with the group. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-18-02, 09:43 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Every kids dream come true..." the worst thing that happened when i was in high school was we got a day off because a water pipe burst flooding some critical classrooms. but we never had anything like that. we never had any metal detectors or cops or an of that stuff. but we didnt need any because all the problem students were in the public schools. we had problem students too but the worst things they did were breaking a window and kicking a hole in one of the walls.

Jan-18-02, 10:40 PM (EST) 10. "RE: Every kids dream come true..." Well most of you people are lucky, here in Arizona we dont get "snow days" whatever that is, it snows, just an inch. So I still have to be riducled by being a AZ D-backs fan at a school full of Yankey fans who want to kill me. And I'm in arizona!!!

Jan-19-02, 01:16 AM (EST) 12. "RE: Every kids dream come true..." Having lived in MI all my life, I had more than my fair share of snow days, and once I got to go home due to a water main break and I also got a day off once because of a fire! Never had to deal with gangs, cops, or metal detectors, as I went to small Lutheran high school. Which was probably a good thing too, since I know for sure I would undoubtedly have ended up dropping out and getting a GED later on. Probably would be dead or in jail had I had to go to school in the inner city somewheres!I also gotta agree with DKlemm too. You think school is a pain, adulthood can be a real bitch sometimes! I've seen it from both sides so I know what it's like. I too wish I could go be a kid again knowing what I know today!Don Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
