RE: Justin Cornell

His site went down when the server he was using went out but he never moved the site so it is gone now. Only a few of his locos are here at Train-Sim.com. I am one of the few that has the GS4 4449 in Daylight and Freedom train colors and a few other locos he made his stuff is freeware what is left anyway. He now does TRAINZ and he post over there often in the TRAINZ forum. And if he says ok I can send you the 4449's if Justin says I can.

All ways remembering BigBoy 4023 and her run through Green River Wyoming on train 359 a 600 car mixed freight with a yellow Union Pacifc caboose on the rear.

RE: Justin Cornell

Guys
Justin still holds copyright on his locos, however since he no longer is involved with MSTS he has given a blanket OK as long as the other conditions are met with his Read Me filesGary S

RE: Justin Cornell

So can someone up load the Daylight into the file library. I know I would like it and I have a feeling I am not the only one. I don't have the readme so I don't know what is says. It would sure help out if someone would do that. Thanks.

RE: Justin Cornell

Some of our more knowlegable folk may need to clarify on this but I would think that the OK would only apply to reskins of Justin's locos at the very least it would be bad form to upload his base locos with out his expressed permission.Gary S

RE: Justin Cornell

Hi Gary,
I totally agree with you, we are already pushing Justin's generosity to the limit. I can see he would kindly allow his work to be used for repaints, but if he didn't want his work uploaded when he was actively publishing it, then he would not want it uploaded when he has stopped supporting it. Let's not create more problems than we need.
Bob

RE: Justin Cornell

Nope, not at all! At least not until his death plus 50 year (copyright laws).Definitions:PUBLIC DOMAIN -- any work whose original creator has stated that such materials have no restrictions of use, royalty, usage fee, or has relinquished their copyright privilege by so stating.FREEWARE -- any type of software or utility that is distributed without charge.SHAREWARE -- software/utilities that have a small registration feePAYWARE -- you have to pay to use it.Note that NONE of these definitions relate to copyright ownership or assignment of rights to others. Those things do NOT change for any reason without the action of the copyright holder. This means that anything that Mr. Cornell produced is still his intellectual property and you must still secure the proper permissions to make derivative works from him. The absence or lack of means of contact with the creator does not place a work into the public domain.JBD
