Jan-11-02, 10:39 PM (EST) "Torch Train in Tucson Arizona." Great News for the Train Fans in Southeastern Arizona. The Union Pacific Olympic Torch Train will be in Tucson Arizona on Sunday January 13, 2002. It will arrive at the Amtrak Station at 10:00 a.m. on Toole Ave (that’s according to the UP Website). So be there early and have your cameras ready. My Dad and I are trying to chase the train from the New Mexico Border to Tucson and beat the train. My schedule didn't work out so that I could get any photos of the torch train while it was in Omaha, but I did catch a brief glimpse of it as it was heading south to Kansas. VERY impressive sight... at about 8pm... dark out... and the last car on the train with a huge flame rising from it, traveling at about 50mph. I was able to see it from about a 3/4 of a mile away easily. I wonder how many "train on fire" calls the various commumities along the route get.
