Me, John Means, Joe LeMay, and Whatshisface, went out to watch Metra trains during Rush Hour, at Downers Grove Main Street, when there are Westbounds evrey 15 Minuites. John Means had a video camera, Joe LeMay , Idontknowhisname, and I, had Digital Cameras. I took about 120 Pictures, but here are just the good ones.

Don't shoot into the sun, lol. Btw, Idon'tknowhisname is Tristan Garrett. I had digital pics but I lost them in an accident I made. Video came out pretty good though.

Acually, these were taken on the BNSF-Aurora Subdivision, at Milepost 21.21 (Downers Grove Forest-Main Street). Believe it or not, all these pictures were taken within 1 hour. There were 3 MP36PH-3S's, but all were expresses, going too fast to take any (good) pictures.*EDIT* 400th Post, and here are 3 more pictures that didint get uploaded.

RE: Metra Rush Hour Trainspotting (56KWarning)

Right there was our first 3 way meet of the day. I was surprised to see two BN SD40-2s on an intermodel like that. That was about 5:00 so it was amazing that the dispatcher even had time to run that train by.

I really like the sun shots, adds a bit of an aura to the photo with the sun reflecting in and around the camera optics. If you look closely at some of the photo winners of the past few years in Trains magazine, you will see a few "sun shots" that did well enough to be mentioned and printed. Keep them coming, it reminds me often of the area I miss so much.SeanK97

Glenn, could you at least try to spell things right and use correct grammer? Oh, and some of my pictures from Gilbert Park on April 1st are on Railpictures.net. Just search for "Joe LeMay"

Cool shots there Glenn. Did you see any other double header besides 190 & 199? I know BNSF and RI both have extra F40's causing them to double head more than usual. RI had three double headers yesturday.

I thought when Metra ran 2 locos on a train, one of the locos was offline. This was called a "Power-move" IIRC.I could be wrong though...I have seen a video file of 2 CalTrain MP36PHI's both in full scream pushing a commuter train.>Mike Forster<

RE: Metra Rush Hour Trainspotting (56KWarning)

Metra has one double header per line. That is in case of something going wrong and another locomotive is needed. With the arrival of the MP36's to BNSF and RI, both lines have extra F40's (BNSF 181-184, RI:100-104).

RE: Metra Rush Hour Trainspotting (56KWarning)

I saw another double header... after my camera died. 1 MP36PH and a F40PHM, 10 cars. I think both were online.
