Hello All, I'm new to the forum and to MSTS, so be patient with me!I downloaded the NALW GE Mega Pack, and I have a problem: many sound files errors. I noticed that "Program Files" was missing in ge-megapak path. the files seem to be in the right place now: TRAINSET/NALW_ TRAINSET/Common Snd TRAINSET/Common Cab I tried finding spelling errors, I've spent hours messing with this, Seems every engine has an error still. I'm using Conbuilder to find the problem but the use of an alias path throws me off into left field!! I can usually figure things out, be this is stumping me! Any help would be MUCH appreciated.I am pleased to see a place where things are free and people still share. I know people have to make a livin though.
gee anotehr one This one was already been discussed if you didn't look for it, but the SatanTrain will echo it.NALW left out the all important Program files in it's path. If you reeinstall it and add Program Files, blah blah blah and other crap like that thereunto, you should have your problems solved. Dr. SatanI'm otherwise known as the SatanTrain

I got that far . . if you'd looked at my attachment I sent, you'd seen the files are where they are supposed to be, IN the TRAINSET folder . . .I can't seem to figure out how to work with alias structured files yet. Get thee behind me satantrain
well I am thee behind you. That's a tough one, as I have not had a problem with it. But I did reall one instance of it messing up where the cab files did not go where they intended to go and i had to switch them out and replace them. I have no idea how to work with alias files. But I'm sure we can learn. Let me read the thing againWell I read it adn my only guess is that the sound and cab files aren't goign into where they are supposed to. But the hierarchy looks fine. As I said I have no clueDr. SatanI'm otherwise known as the SatanTrain

As much as Chuck and the rest of the wonderful team at NALW hate to admit it (and I would be too if I spent as much time working on this set as they did), there are multiple errors in the sound files (.sms). I spent some time over the weekend correcting several myself. What you have to do is open the particular .sms file that Conbuilder says is faulty (forget the folder it says it's in, just open the particular .sms file in the Common.Snd) and look for spelling or alias errors. I've corrected multiple errors in the past, but the particular one I fixed this weekend was related to the P32 set. There was an instance where the .sms file was looking for ../x_k5la_horn.wav when it should have been looking for ../../x_k5la_horn.wav. Another error had this "../....//" instead of this "../../../" so you just have to examine things carefully. Good luck.
