Have any of you folks got any images which are unusual, spectacular, funny--even disturbing. There has to be something that people can show that would be entertaining, if so then hotfoot it to the Screenshot forum and enter the competition which is "anchored." There is now no restriction on the number of entries you can put in.Here are my three from the Screenshot forum to give you encouragement to enter.Mike

Cal, my sentiments exactly.I wasn't going to say anything, but since you did, I'll throw my dime in as well. This young gentleman's time could be put to much better use than creating scenes such as this. The first one isn't bad, but the other two, in my opinion are questionable. Being from Midwest USA, tornadoes are definitely NOT an amusing subject.Larry Steiner

My apologies to both you Larry,and Cal as well as any others who might be offended. I ought to have made it plainer that these pics are not meant to be entertaining, but thought provoking; indeed, I always get both distressed and depressed when I hear of half of America's forests are on fire. I also should make it clear that I am passionate about trees and forests, and I desperately want to see the last of the "big stuff" before it's all burnt, or chopped down.I hope this clear things up a bit.Mike Michael Sinclair

Hi Jeff,It's a bit below the belt to say I get kicks putting "trains and disaster together.<>Ok, what really went through my mind when I created these images was the terrific power of nature pitted against the terrific enduring power of those magnificent Santa Fe beasts, and, as you can see, those "workhorses" come out all right. In fact they "triumph" under adverse conditions, and there IS no "disaster" in triumph...is there?It's a matter of interpretation: some people will see a clear connection betwen the "dynamics" of nature's fury and those of the "power and glory" of some of America's greatest locos; moreover, there is a well established genre in the appreciation of nature's fury, whether it be the very popular "storm chasing" activities, or going down to the coast (as I do) to photograph the terrific terrific waves and massive explosions of water against the cliffs and sea front.I have nearly "bought" it on a few occasions when a huge wave or two tried to deprive me of my life, and, hey, there was the the time when I was out in this thunderstorm enjoying the lightning (as one does)when...Hey, I am forgetting the reason why the pics went up in the first place: which is that if you have anything unusual or spectacular or funny etc please enter the anchored competition in the Screenshot forum please.Mike<>Here is a funny example from another entrant jay611 (Jason Underwood) Michael Sinclair

Amen Icy, Amen. Needless to say, people are very uneducated about such catastrophes. Few people know (or care to listen) that forest fires are helpful. In the long run, they provide new growth, and great fertile soil for more forests to grow. Forest fires were around long, long before Humans, and there are still trees around.

Make that an aye here as well. I think they were very well done. And I agree that this is not a real event and therefore getting upset about them is a little extreme. The lightening picture is excellent. I like the funny one as well. Look, this is more to do with photographic ability rather than realistic events, although, either way, I think they are nice pictures. These things happen all the time. Sure, nature and fires can be disturbing but they also happen for a good reason as was stated by another poster here. I am not that talented but will be looking at the pics that are posted. Hi Tim,Have a go, I am not talented just creative--lots of ideas and innovation: open up you photo editor and copy one image onto the other, and use a resize tool and finally reduce opacity save and up she goes.Here's another shot that I put into the screenshot competetition.Mike Michael Sinclair

LOL! Actually I like the forest fire one not because of what it portrays, but because that is a pretty famous photograph and to see the train pop up in there is funny to me. Sorta like those guys who photoshop a Pepsi can into the Mona Lisa. I can appreciate that kind of humor BTW: Yes, that base image is an unaltered photograph of a forest fire in a national forest in Montana.
