So, those of you who are model railroaders, what are you working on?CURRENT;C&O GP35 3571- From RPP shell with LLP2K chassis, new cannon cab, battery boxes, fans, noses, dbs, the works...WM FA-2 303-From Walthers FA1. Complete re-work, equiped with Atlas dual-mode decoder.C&O GP30M 3044- Waiting to buy #74 drill bits to add truck side frame details. Added new horns on both sides of cabC&O SD50 85??- Had a little accident. Need to replace sinshades with brass ones from A-Line, and a new snowplow.HLGX C36-7EM #6819- Been working on this since November. It's complete with third brake cylinders on the middle axle, and K5HR24 horn. I am not sure if thats what the 6819 has, but I found one from DW laying around so, ..Re laying track on curves, soldering flex track.FUTUREI'm buying two Atlas dual-mode GP40s, #3684 & 3690. I am debating weahter or not to renumber them to 4000 series and 3700s, because those are later phase GP40s, the Atlas is an early phase not correct for the 3700 & 4000s.I am searching for a few cheap Kato SD40s, to do;Western Maryland Speed Lettered #7470
Western Maryland Speed Lettered #7574
Western Maryland Circus Scheme #7545
N&W Hamburger Blue High-Nose (using a cannon kit)
I am also looking for an Atlas N&W Hamburger GP40 from Atlas. The reason for the N&W stuff is in the 70s, the WM pooled an awful lot of N&W power, and cabooses on their trains. An insane amount at that! There is a custom painted Atlas GP40 in WM Circus paint at a hobby shop near me that I have my eyes on. If Atlas dosen't do a late phase GP40 in WM, I might just break down, and ask for it for my Birthday anyway. Its just so pretty.I am also hoping Athearn Genesis will do a A-B-A set of WM Speed Lettered F7As, and a seperate WM Circus paint F7A. Also, I have on order from Overland, two Chessie-B&O C27-A class cabooses. They said the're due "2004", but I am suspecting thy will arrive early summer time.I found an old Front Range PhII GP9, and I'm thinking about doing a WM Circus chop-nose GP9. Dose anyone know if the Phase II GP9 is correct for the phase GP9s the Wild Mary had?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not made of money. This will take place in about two years. I'll update this as the conditions, and projects change. Some things are just waiting for paint, when the weather clears up, Ill be doing some painting. What is everyone up to?-Jeffrey
