I noticed on some older superliners I installed in MSTS the doors between cars were on the lower level and the newer cars had doors on the upper level. Was there any reason for moving the doors to the upper level? Do any superliners have doors on the lower and upper level between cars?

RE: superliner doors

If you're talking about car like transitional sleeper/crew dorm cars, they do have one lower end door and the other upper level door, yes. The rest of the other superliner cars have doors at the upper level between cars. To build your consist, You should put the transititonal sleeper/crew dorm car behind the bagagge car (behind the engines) with the door at the lower level connected to the bagagge car and the other door at the upper level connected to the rest of the superliner cars. As of now, there are no really great Superliners for MSTS. Some have the end doors at the correct height, but don't have a transition car. Others are all at the wrong height. But thankfully Union-Atlantic has finally taken up the chalenge of making prototypical Superliners. Here's a link on thier planned Superliners.

RE: superliner doors

FYI - all the Superliners with the doors on the lower level for MSTS are repaints of the default Superliner...------ BUZZ

RE: superliner doors

Or maybe, just maybe, they're from England and had no idea what any of it looked like and they had deadlines to meet and bosses who didn't want to hear "I'm on the net looking for the height and width of the doors on the B end of a Superliner car, than I have to check on the length of the coupler drawbar for the flats..."The good news is: You don't need any of the default cars. Or the default locomotives. Or the default buildings. Or routes. Or even track. That's what makes the game special, is the fact that anybody can change, fix, add or make just about anything...Just a thought...Rob

Maybe someone could make superliner with a passenger view on the lower level as well as another with an upper level view. I know there is one in the file library with an upper level view.
