LAST EDITED ON Jan-14-04 AT 06:01 PM (EST)

Purchased American Classics awhile back, and using AC registration number I applied for membership ( on - tamembership@charter.net) 7 days ago, but I have not yet received a response.
My understanding is that responses are usually received in 2 or 3 days, or within a week at the most.I will probably send a follow-up e-mail soon. In the meantime, I know that TA may be quite busy on "other things" at the moment , but does anyone know if there is a problem specifically with membership applications at the moment? Also, if membership applications are declined, are applicants notified of that? Thanks.

RE: Train Artisan Club TA Membership

I know this has been addressed here recently, but I am too tired to search for it. Last thing I knew was that somebody (and they are being sought for punishment) posted a direct link to their free/bonus downloads section (aka clubTA) and access was pulled for the general public (those that paid) and you could only get access via an e-mail and the link was good for only 24 hours. The last time I checked the ClubTA page, nothing was there. I bought mine a year or so back, and it was just after I got all the bonuses I wanted that all h*** broke loose and the changes were made. If you go to their forum pages you should see this covered there too.SeanK97

RE: Train Artisan Club TA Membership

I don't think anyone knows what is going on at TA. I have also been unable to get thier attention and I have sent follow-ups. The last message I sent had delivery and read reciept turn on and as yet I have had no response. They just are not answering their e-mails. As a result I have kind of written them off.Be Seeing you.

The registration number should be on the registration card. Of course I got the box edition, so not sure if they are all the same or not. But you should be able to write TA and ask them if you have further trouble.Mykel

RE: Train Artisan Club TA Membership

Several days ago I E-mailed TA and I received an immediate response to my question. I responded with the info requested by TA and received a response in three days. The writer apologized for the time delay because he taken a short holiday! Nothing regarding MSTS and/or TA is a life threatening matter so I would suggest that we all "Cool our Jets"!

RE: Train Artisan Club TA Membership

Club TA basicly went down the drains. You cant gain access to anything if you have access... I should know. I can get in and I still cant download anything.... However I have been a member there for more then a year now..... I have already downloaded everything I wanted from the club area.
No doubt the devolopement of there own sim is taking alot of there time and its possible that they dont have much time for anything else.
Its also likely that they are being bombarded by emails from the entire Train sim world and cant reply to it all.
I have done them a favor and not sent any email since there return. Give them time and I bet it will be worth your wait. (Keeping fingers crossed)
The guys over at TA are a very good bunch of guys... I can confirm that they are... Back when I was under the name of Captiandon here at the forum, I stuck up for them when they were working on the American classics. For doing so I was given free access to the Santa Fe Super Cheif set. This was before I had Bought the American Classics.
So believe me when I say TA is trying there best. I know well enough to just give them there space and have alittle patients with them.Train Artisan Club TA Membership – image 1Don Pottorff

>to anything if you have access... This is because a while back someone posted the password, and the downloads were pulled. If you are interested in anything there and are a member, email Cyrus and he will send you links. Pretty painless really.-Jeff

In some respects its better and some its not.... each designer has there weak points and some have there strengths. The TA work I would have to say is better in sounds and the model... Marc and 3D trains have are almost at a par with the model and there Textures are first rate... However they have some sound issues that have to be patched. They said that they will have a fix after they get there route done.
You also have to remember that TA's units proceed 3D trains designs by about a year and some repects 3D trains is better... However I really like the sounds that come with the Supercheif from TA.... The horn that there Super Chief has is othe best sounding F unit Horns in Train sim. Dokkinsound is there sound engineer and his work is great.
I see both TA's and 3D trains Super Chief sets to be a complement to eachother and I have both. I also Enjoy running both.
Another note on TA's set is that you get that wonderfull OBS car View with moving people and the Background Song of Take The A Train, by Duke Ellington.
I was a little dissapointed that 3D trains didnt include a Passenger view... BTW Marc If you want to have a passenger view... I have the perfect Background song I could send to you.... Chattanooga Choo Choo from Glen Miller. I also have about 30 other recordings from Glen Miller and a huge collection of other Jazz standards from the turn of the century to the early 70's Includning all the Jazz greats. Hay I played Jazz so I enjoy it Train Artisan Club TA Membership – image 2Don Pottorff
