Any ideas guys?, I installed the route as instructed, the programme then went through the normal terrain building but when going to load the sim the message says "Failed to initialize train world".I have the latest X tracks and Tsection dat(Ver 3.9 ), the route shows up ok in the RE.Route ritter stalls when checking it in the world folder.
Run the bat file again. If you are using XP. it chokes at times. And you do have the 6 default route installed?Kevin Arceneaux DEFAULT IS FOR DUMMIES Cry havoc and Let slip the dogs of war. Lone Wolf Activities Forum and Activity Packs are on www.3DTrains.com
Thanks for the reply Kevin. Tried running the install another three times , but same old problem! I am running XP but have never had this problem with any other route before.
It sound to me like the .env files are missing. The envfiles folder is not part of the initial install routine. Copy in a set from another route, or run the installme.bat file again.mervyn.
yup I had same problem........BUT the chap put up a patch for it, saying to use the patch if you do not have SKYCONDUCTOR2 installed, I followed instructions and it worked fine....and it's well worth having he's done a Grand Job on it.........R
I had the same "failed world initialization" problem, but this is what I did..I had put all the downloads in a new folder like the instructions said, and called it "Monon".I then slid it into the "routes" box, opened the file I created, and hit "install". When you install,it CREATED ANOTHER FOLDER CALLED MONON ROUTE!!!!!.. That newer folder was later found by me in the bottom of the routes box,and when I tried to activate the route,it was defaulting to my original box and not the installed route!!!!!! I cured this by removing both boxes from the route box, restarting my cpu and then sliding the "Monon route" folder back into the routes box.EUREKA!,it worked!!!!!.. It took me about 5 tries to realize what the problem was,so don't feel bad....Bob C.
Had the same problem until I downloaded the route again, unzipped into a common folder outside of MSTS and hit the install and it worked! Love the signals!
I followed the readme.txt about unzip the four files into a temporary folder in D drive then click the Monon.exe inside the temporary folder outside of MSTS which I had the MSTS program in E drive. Then I open the Routes Folder to click "installme.bat" to xcopy the six default routes from the MSTS Routes Folder. Now this route, Monon did not show up in Route and Activity Selection. I couldn't figure out why because I have tried to do this several times this evening to see if this route works but still not show up on MSTS simulation. But I did noticed the last part of installme.bat in DOS that some of the files did not xcopy from the textures folder in six default routes. Now I am wondering if Steve, the creator of this route is using the new Fir trees and something else I can't remember the name of other files that are suppose to xcopy but it didn't. Hope that someone can tell me what files are missing in textures folder of six default routes. Yes I do have Sky Conductor 2 in MSTS. Anyway I just want to say Happy New Year to all of the MSTS members and won't be too long before the year of 2004 arrive in the next 48 minutes.ThankyouJohn
