Just a thought if anyone out there knows if the major model makers plan on producing a. P.R.R. E-44 Electric and b. N.J.T ALP-46 Electric. I know there are already the ALP-44 and AEM-7 by Atlas and the E-33 by Bachmann as well as the GG-1 but it would be nice if more electrics were available rather than diesel after diesel ad nauseum.
Tim Can't tell on the ALP-46 but I know NALW is working on an E-44edit just realized you were talking HO physical models (DO'H) just goes to show why you shouldn't get online till you've been properly cafinated in the AM. With that aside I'd say doubtful to your question, maybe in brass but the plastic guys are seeing a major down turn in business so they'll probably stick to nice safe diesels that can be painted for many roadnames rather than risk poor sales on a "limited interest" juice motor they can only offer one or two roadsGary S

> but the plastic guys are seeing a major down turn in businessMSTS = $30 3D Canvas LP = $35 Used copy of a good paint program on ebay = $20 Total cost of making unlimited trains for MSTS = $85ONE New plastic Diesel locomotive from a decent HO company = $100That may be one reason the HO model business is declining...------ BUZZ ------ -- Power For You --
Hey guys.. read the subject! He's talking HO stuff I THINK Bachmann is doing a E-44.. DOn't hold me to that. as for the ALP-46, I dunno. Edit: I need to read Buzz's post before I replied.
yes, i beleive Bachmann is doing one. (E44) Penn Central, Pennsy, NH, Conrail, N&W....Atlas has an ALP somthing or other out (that dual ended thing....yeah) in both O & HORecords:Stupid errors: 45 Locked Posts: 1 Broken Guitars: 2
Bachman is releasing an E-33, not an E-44. The E-33 ‘s are the original electrics made for the Virginian in 1956-1957. They were originally classed as EL-C’s. After the N&W took over the Virginian, they abandoned all electric operations and the New Haven bought them and re-classed them as EF-4’s. After the PC merger, the electrics obtained their E-33 classification and ran all over the northeast up until Conrail got rid of the electrics in the early 80’s.The E-44 is a different locomotive although it dose look like am E-33. The E-44 was made for the PRR and started operation in the 60’s and lasted until the 80’s also. The only E-44 HO model is in brass Actually the HO model business is growing faster then ever..with all the highly quality detailed models arriving ready to run, it is the Brass companys that are getting a bit scared. The Brass industy has been more for collectors, not modelers. J. Hildenbrand------NALW------ ---Juice for You---

Marklin?) already does a German Class 101, which is what an ALP46 is (with a couple of small detail changes)...the only problem is that they cost about $350Cdn (or about $200 USD). That's a lot of coin for an engine, and that's before you start changing details around, and repaint the damn thing. As someone posted earlier, it's no wonder...DanMaking a mockery of serious business for 23 years.
