I have not been on this forum long, but nhave been fascinated by the old trains since my grandfather would walk me a few blocks to see the B&O steamers in a fresh coat of shiny black in the early 50's... So much talent on this forum,(mostly I suspect, from the kids who had computers in their entire educational curriculum.) Maybe we need a seperate area opened for these so called "wish-lists",because there are a lot of us out here who would like to see things that just are not created for the sims yet, that the older of us knew to be so common-place in reality,at one time.. Some of my personal choices would be 1.B&O wagon top boxcar.. 2.The Burlington Zephyr Streamliner (from the 30's). 3.Pennsy N5c caboose with the slant roof cupola 4.Cattle cars(were VERY common when I was a kid). 5.More billboard reefers like those Athearn models,i.e.luto water,Kingan's meat,Rath Blackhawk Ham,etc. That beautiful yellow UP stramliner from the 30's,(can't remember it's name)..Had an early car body with CHROME grill!!!! I love all the neat units coming out,(5 recent steamers this week alone I believe!!)..Just trying to infuse some more life and potential into this already great hobby.......Bob
>>2.The Burlington Zephyr Streamliner (from the 30's). > >Chack this out (still in progress) : >http://groups.msn.com/JeremysMSTSLaboratory/burlingtonroutepioneerzephyr.msnw That's it!!!!!!! The Burlington Zephyr!!!!!!!..I have seen one of the real ones at the National Transportation Museum in St Louis, and I believe another is in Chicago..It's really(as you must obviously know by now)a 4 unit articulated train which remains togeher with its' components..I was afraid that in itself might cause problems for the designer to model....
>check this out >http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/21156.html im >workin on a lot of B&O Stuff with WM and C&O also. workin on >the Boxcars now Excellent! So glad to see some people are actually devoting time to particular railroads,(and the B&O was the oldest and most prolific for so long!..)Since they made so many of their own units,or had them custom built,I think it's a shame so few of their true equipment is lacking. This may also be said of the NYC,Pennsy,etc.....
also if you liked the C&O this one just came out of the shed http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/21192.html (also do a search in the file libary for Josh or Joshua and you should get about a page to two pages of stuff from the B&O, C&O and WM.
