O.T .BUT VERY VERY FUNNY!!Unfortunately this kid did NOT take himself out of the gene pool, but he came close!! I had this in my in box for a while and I am busting out to share with all my friends, “right click save as” it is about 700kb and WORTH EVERY moment it takes to D/LI’m just grateful he at least took his car off the road in the processes, for at least a week, I for the life of me cannot figger out why he did not realize, doing what he did, the end result would not happen, it was inevitable.

Here, hydrants like that are usually only seen in city centres or around local shops. Out here in streets not much different to the one in the film, they just paint a reflective mark on the road and kerb to highlight the spot of the underground hydrant. Catchya

In warmer climates there are wet hydrants, that stay charged all the time, that will spray like they show in the movies. Usually about 20 feet into the air. (I've seen them where they had enough pressure to lift one end or one side of a car up far enough to roll it over out of the spray)
After hitting a dry hydrant and shearing it like that, the repair costs are more in the vicinity of $1000-1500 US, as the valve and reach rod ususally have been damaged enough to require replacement, and everything has to be dug up.
If his insurance company sees this tape, I guarantee they won't pay, and will probably "hot-potato" and blacklist him. He'll have to buy the power pole also, along with the labor costs of replacing and re-wiring it.
It probably won't be, but should be grounds for pulling his ticket permanently.

Such behavior is the product of shows like "Jackass" and the liberal's insistance that it is always someone elses fault.Given this was taped, if the insurance company is stupid enough to pay for the claim, it is one company to drop coverage from and go elsewhere.Saw one idiot in a similar truck trying to drive down the road with some chain link fence twisted around the drive shaft at 2:30AM. He had been ripping up farm fields, back woods, and finally, through the back fence in the park and the front gate. He was pulled over tearing up yards on the next road.The idiot tried to fight his arrest in court several times, (third arrest for DWI and property damage.) Each time, I get a notice to appear in court to testify, then, it gets cancelled. I think it was finally plea bargoned after wasting all of that time in court.SRV Ron
