The Redbirds, THEY LIVE!

http://www.nycsubway.org/cgi-bin/events.cgi#144 "As part of the continuing support of the March of Dimes, Subdivision C of the New York City Transit will be sponsoring more excursion trips using both Museum and recently retired Redbird type IRT cars."December 6th and 7th will find the Redbird cars running on the mainline IRT lines. The trip will leave the Grand Central Shuttle platform at 10:30 AM. A few surprise locations are planned as well."Here's my chance at riding the Redbirds once more, and so is yours! Just dish out $40 for adults, $20 for children, and you've got yourself a ride on one of the best subway cars that ever lived! (A bit pricy, but I'm sure it'll be well worth it!) Yep! If what you say is true, this'll be my first time riding the City Hall Loop (seldom have I rode the 6 train). But, I've always wondered if the station is lighted, or if it's dark... But, lighted or not, it's going to be a Redbird that's (supposedly) going to take me there.MTA Going your way for 100 years. 1904-2004

Thats true. Though Sydney uses 1500v overhead wiring, not 600v third rail . . .
