The reason for robots,CP figures they can cut more jobs by having longer trains... LOL NOBrian,First of we call it: DP, Locotrol, school train, mid train helper, robot, slave... The robots just came heavily onto CP in Canada this year. In winter locotrol had been introduced to "EASTBOUND COAL/GRAIN" and "WESTBOUND COAL/GRAIN" out of Thunder Bay, Ontario... North of Dulith, MN Secondly, 274.. The eastbound mixed freight Calgary Alyth Yard to Toronto Toronto Yard had been introduced to locotrol service. This train typically sees, 1 or 2 locos upfront, mixed (all loads), 1 loco, mixed and empty multi/tri levels. Then aout two weeks ago, westbound 109 Toronto to Vancouver has started using locotrol trains. Such as the picture. One large reason.... Better slack action, easier to climb the grades in Northern Ontario, and helps the train perfrom better. Oh ya, you know about the EX BN "SOO" ARC (AIR REPEATER CARS)? Well those are soon to be a thing of the past.Locotrol will be used on eastbound intermodals, and on other westbounds such as 101 and 103. That answer your Question?Cheers Chris Wilson MP 63 CP's Heron Bay Sub Marathon, OntarioEMAIL: chris9102@shaw.ca
Ok , I have a question , I saw that you were using flash on your camera by the CP logo on the front , Do you have a handheald scanner ? and if so then have you ever heard them say anything about some guy scaring the Crap out of them ? Do they have any reaction to the flash ? Southern Pacific will live on forever in the hearts of the Red and Gray Railfans

The first one was taken about 4:30 pm today, the last two of the train were taken at around 5:20 today. These pics were taken about a half a mile from my house in Portville, NY along the NS Buffalo Line. The train is the H4W, one of the two wayfreights that NS runs through here three times a week.

Hey guys,Fall colours aren't really showing out here on the Prairies. These pictures are from my trip to Winnipeg earlier this week. This westbound was ready to depart Swift Current, Saskatchewan, the crew showed up just as I was leaving. I caught this westbound after leaving Swift Current, just outside of Herbert, Saskatchewan. On the trip back I stopped in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba for lunch. The CN and CPR lines are very close together, and I caught this meet between two CN trains.- Andrew
Alright Chris, might as well show off some colours from the west. With the 2816 trip to Kamloops.EDIT: had to fix a picture.. D'oh!Cheers!Ryan Revelstoke BC (Mile 125.7 CPR Mountain Subdivision) *Toughest Subdivision To Run A Train*
