Nov-20-01, 01:23 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Downloading Errors" Hi,I try to download the IC route v5, but after 56 bytes, it says completed. Well I don't thought so. It should be somewhat more.It happens on 2 pc's, so I think the server informs wrong about the file size.
Anywhere else here on the board is this phenomen also noticed with the Alco S4.Dick van den Hoven Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-23-01, 06:18 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Downloading Errors" I dowloaded a series of files and being it was very slow less
than 1 KB per second I deleted them from my PC. When the system is up 100% I will download them again. No use creating more errors. There are enough of them with the original MSTS.
The download site has been down for over a month. Until it is completely up, I will bypass.Alex

Nov-25-01, 05:00 PM (EST) 10. "RE: Downloading Errors" Nels said awhile back that there was a problem with the shifting of that particular File server to somewhere else. As I understand it when it got shifted, the line was not good, in fact terrible. I think he is still looking elsewhere.
Be like me just WAIT..... PATIENTLY.... till I see the ORIGINAL download copyright message appear again.
Well that's what I'm doing. Don't even try downloading, just wasting your time.
Give Nels some space and time, he's doing his very best, just needs time to sort this out.
In the meantime back to do some more train simming. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-25-01, 07:34 PM (EST) 11. "RE: Downloading Errors" NO GrasshopperYou really don't waste your time. Since the library has been acting up, I'm still able to get files. You have to keep checking in and eventualy the server will pull the file up for you. For example, I was there this morning and got the diesels and the cabs. I could not get the commuter cars or tank cars until an hour ago. The other day I was able to get the box cars and hoppers. It still downloads the files excedingly slow though.Chuck Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-26-01, 08:20 AM (EST) 12. "RE: Downloading Errors" I finally got things caught up, and added a whole bunch of news files which should all download OK now. If anyone finds a specific file that does not work please let me know:nels@train-sim.comWe're still not completely back to normal though. Later this week we'll be moving to a different ISP so there will be some down time on the file server (the rest of Train-Sim.Com will remain up) but after that the problems we've been experiencing should be over.

Nov-26-01, 09:18 AM (EST) 13. "RE: Downloading Errors" Nels;Do you think the move to the new ISP will help with the transfer rate? Prior to the last switch I was getting around 70kbs, now if I'm lucky I get 20kbs.David Klemm
