Ot: Cubs Win!

For the first time since 1908, the Cubs have won a postseason series by defeating the Atlanta Braves 5-1 tonight. They will face the Marlins in Chicago for the NLCS. Also, the Yankees eliminate the Twins in an 8-1 victory. They will face the A's or Red Sox on Wednesday in New York. Congrats to the Cubbies fans. Maybe the curse of the goat has been reversed after all!

I'm a big Cubs fan, all be it, a long distance Cub fan. Been to two games at Wrigley, in 1997 and 1998, and nothing in the sports world compares to Wrigley. Even though I am in New York, if they make it to the series, I am off to Chicago baby!Chris Bogley

This is good... VERY good! Just 8 more wins to go!
The down side to this... back in the mid 90's I entered into a long standing bet with a friend. It the Red Sox win the Worlds Series, he shaves his head... if the Cubs win, it's me that goes with the Kojak look. But believe me, I'm more than willing to face a long cold winter.. my Cubs stocking cap is on the stand by should it be needed! Go Cubbies!!

Then watch tonight. Red Sox at A's, Pedro at Zito, winner take all. 8:15 on Fox. I'm going with the A's tonight. The Red Sox seem overconfident, and the home team has won every game this series. They go on to face the red hot New York Yankees in the Bronx on Wednesday.

>>>Then watch tonight.<<<Wish to hell I could, my cable has been out since 3 o'clock. CDTTried to watch on the computer, no go, blacked out unless you live out of the country.YANKEES SUCK! These multi-zillion dollar players against our poor Twins, not fair. It's like the Aurora Blackhawks playing against the Minnesota Vikings. Barry Bonds and the San Fran Giants losing, love it. That guy has an attitude I don't care for. He's almost as crabby as our Guzman.Go Cubs! I haven't watched many of their games since Harry died.Bob {9:35 and still no cable}

I just loved watching the Sox get killed last night 6-2 by the Yankees. If the Yankees win tomorrow against Pedro, they win the series. If Boston wins, who knows. But they'll never be able to beat this man:

Too bad Minnesota had to ruin it, or it could have been the Cubbies and White Sox in the World Series! Then it would be official that hell has frozen over I know as a Chicago fan that I shouldn't get my hopes up, but the Cubs can do it.Anyone remember Back to the Future part 2? I think they predicted Cubs and Marlins in the World series! Of course the Marlins ended up being a National League team so it couldn't happen. But NLCS is pretty good!

Having been a Cubs fan my entire life.......this is sweet!.....I believe that with the Cubs pitchers....this could be an every year event for years to come. I have sat through too many Cubs seasons with awful teams......was a season ticket holder in 1983 and 1984 ( when an average working guy could still afford it)............after they blew it in San Diego......damn Garvey!!!!!...............and in 1985 the entire starting rotation went down in the same week or so......I left Wrigley ......have not been back since. I have always pulled for the Cubs.....and or Sox......just once in my lifetime I want to see a Chicago baseball team win something other then the Northside yuppies hearts!Go Cubs.......win the World series......trade Sammy and do again next year! No Cork!Chuck

The curse of the Cub's is back!!! God be with that fan. The paper this morning said he was escorted by security out of the ballpark last night, with a jacket thrown over his face to cover his identity.

Im not a sports fan either. I try to avoid going to any games at all. I dedicate most of my time to trains and train-sim. That is very sad about that guy at last nights game. The paper by my area gave his name, phone number, where he works, and where he lives. He got off work because of that.

I'm refferring to the fan at last nights Cubs game that went for a Marlins foul of the left field side not aware that the Cubs left fielder was about to catch it for the second Marlin out,his attempt for the ball tipped it into the stands and right or wrong is being cast as the goat in last nights loss.Gary S
