>Sorry Chuck but this is a Railroading forum.

>Well because this is what is in the "Rules and Regulations Sticky Post" at the top of this page...."Screen shot Forum - Share your train-sim images with others
This forum is not specific to any one simulator, screengrabs can be from Any Rail Related Simulator. Also, Flight Simulators showing rail equipment is OK. I suppose real photos will be ok as well"Please note that the General Forum description does NOT MENTION PHOTOGRAPHS AT ALL

>Please note that the General Forum description does NOT MENTION PHOTOGRAPHS AT ALL <And does it say we CANT post real photos? No it does not.
"General Forum - General railroading forum, for topics not specific to any one simulator. The General Forum is for everything Railroad Related. You can post about train sightings, other simulators out and about the internet, such as Microsoft Train Simulator, Bose View Express (BVE), Auran Trainz, Train Driver 3, Black 5, Train Dispatch 3, Rail 3D, Playstation 2 Rail Games, and for the fun of it, your Sim City Railroad etc. National Events, such as what happened on September 11th, Volcano Eruptions, Major Earthquakes, Tornados, Hurricanes, etc. It is ok to post about this on the forum."
I believe photos are included in "everything Railroad Releated".

RE: Favorite Picture anyone?

This is my favorite, because it took the longest to make.I set my 35mm camera up on a tripod, locked the shutter open at F8, and with the help of a friendly railroad employee, I ran around the locos with my strobes, firing them off as fast as they would re-charge, while the friendly employee would switch cab/headlight/walkway lights on and off at a prescribed time.Notice the streak in the upper left of the picture. That is a star or planet, recorded as the Earth revolved while the shutter was open, about 20 minutes. The fact that the MP buzzsaw logo is in the background is pure coincidence; a happy coincidence. To chucksc I say, sorry if this image offends you in any way (organizational or otherwise), but sometimes a post breaks out spontaneously, and you just enjoy it. What’s your favorite photo?

This is one of my favorite photos because of the story it tells. Obviously there was a wreak, but when, how, why? It stimulates the mind; I think that makes for an interesting photograph. Note the conductor with his head turned out of the window to get a closer look. The unit was the only non-patched SP unit of 5 SD 40's and SD 45's heading down to Bealville to help a stalled empty UP well train. Taken around April 30, 2001 at Cable Siding, CA. Who says you can't take pictures in the rain? Taken by me on August 16th of this year during a bad thunderstorm. Whoops, forgot to mention this was taken in North East, PA, on the outskirts of Erie along CSX's Chicago Line.Favorite Picture anyone? – image 43

RE: Favorite Picture anyone?

I've always liked this one, taken a few years ago at the B&O museum in Baltimore. The museum roundhouse seems kind of ghostly behind that huge locomotive. It was a really humid summer day and the sky really did look as white as it appears in the photo. The roundhouse is such a neat looking building. I hope they get it repaired soon.

Well now, Nels, I would say that is a C&O H-8 Allegheny, one of my favorites.
Known for pulling the heaviest coal trains from Hinton, WV east to my Grandmother's town, Clifton Forge, VA. 7500 HP compared to the Big Boy's 6200.
Wasn't somebody saying they were going to make up one?

RE: Favorite Picture anyone?

I took this picture last fall in Windsor Ont. It's the old Essex Terminal Railway No. 9. It's kept at the Elgin County Railway Museum in St.Thomas Ont. It was giving excursions on the ETR line from Windsor to Amherstburg for the ETR Centennial.
