Virus heads up - somebody's getting REAL cute

Virus heads up - somebody's getting REAL cute – image 1 Moral of the story, scan any attachment before opening. Grammatical mistakes indicate this is probably an adolescent, but sometimes they're not so obvious.

Well, it was new to me, first time I got one like that. Most are in .pif saying "see attached for details", the only one that was even remotely clever was one allegedly from my ISP saying that my email account was about to expire, see attached. I didn't fall for that one either, but some people are still not getting the word and opening attachments without scanning. Solution to that is don't let your girlfriend play with your computer, hey Tim?

A person that I did a service call for on furniture was complaining about her slow computer. I told her to download Ad Aware and run it. She did so while I was there. Results, four copies of Gater running in the background and 47 data miners stored in a gator folder.That after she said that she had to remove eight virus programs a day earlier. I told her to get a firewall program and keep her antivirus updated.So many people out there using high speed internet connections. Then, they leave the computer and modem on 24-7. Who knows what filthy garbage is hidden in those hard drives that could result in a long stay in some house of corrections and total financal ruin for the innocent.Oh, Two more attempts to access my computer were blocked as I typed this.SRV Ron

Run Spybot, it is a free program. It works real well and you get free updates. My wife had Gator and a couple of browser hijackers and thi was the only program that got rid of them.

I got this in my email some time ago. Obviously a joke but I kept it around when I got it.
(don't have a screen shot)You have recieved the AMISH Virus. We do not use computers, so you must now delete all your files manually. Good day.
The other day however, I did pick up a real virus. Oddly, this thing only attacks Gator, so I'm considering copying it and sending it to friends.

I run a hardware and a software firewall. The hardware for stopping stuff from coming in, and the software for stuff going out. And an up to date anti-vidrus today.

They never send a patch by e-mail alert. If you do a search on the origin of the sender, it's spam mail containing a virus from some hacked computer overseas using a faked address. Similar to a lot of infected e-mail being sent by forum members that never sent them.SRV Ron
