Oct-31-01, 02:14 AM (EST) "New folders in the download area" Nels:Good to see that additional folders have been created for downloadable files here at Train-Sim.com. Perhaps sometime in the future additional folder would be in order. I would suggest the following folder might be in order some time in the future:Box Cars
Gondola Cars
Reefer Cars
Specialty Cars
MOW Cars
Buildings
Vehicles
ScenerySpecialty Cars might contain items such as found at the UP/CSX crossing in Dolton, Illinois on the "Bottle Train", namely a football shaped refractory container that holds molten iron/steel. It would appear from what I have gathered that tilts on axis to allow molten material to be poured out.I'd like to hear from others that might have suggestions for download folder names. I'm sure that there are a lot more that would make sense to have. The Scenery folder might contain all items that are not Vehicles or Buildings.I also took a look in the Tank Car folder and noticed that the Shell Oil Tank Car is not listed, and has not been moved from Freight Car folder. That way if someone wants to model only one area, the files would be easier to find. Also, items that would be unique to an area (buildings, etc) would be in those folders, but another folder would be required for general items and utilities. One of the biggest problems is database design is the definition of the file structure. Oct-31-01, 03:39 PM (EST) 2. "RE: New folders in the download area" I think this suggestion is important, more so than some of the other sections which currently at least would have only a handful of cars. But having looked through all the freight cars in the past two days the number of non-North American cars is really quite small. I was thinking of making just a single file section for all non-North American cars since I don't think there are enough of these cars to justify a complete duplication of all the car sections by region of the world. What I can't seem to come up with is a good name for the section...
