This picture has been debunked soooo many times, it's not funny...First, look carefully at what side of the car the driver is.Now, look at what country the train is probably from. And that's just for starters!-You can never have too much inner beauty. Or socks.

Looks either like Australia or New Zealand. The loco could be a G12... I'm not 100% sure or at least a 'built-under-licence' G12.
Don't quote me on this. *winces*Tonka.N.B. Edit for correcting typoes.

Black Number plate - could be NSW or QLDThats only an old Toyota Corolla, and the track seems a lot narrower than the car - making it narrow gauge, 3'6" - found in Queensland. In that state as well, there are a number of places where road and rail share bridges, and even places where the tracks go right down main streets. That photo looks pretty real to me. It could also be Western Australia, though I dont know WA well. The problem I'm having is with the loco - it looks like a QR unit but doesnt appear to have the right paint job. Could be Westrail but again cowcatcher paint job should be orange(?)Jury's still out for me but I'm leaning towards real.Funny Pic – image 10

>It could also be Western Australia, though I dont know WA well.I think WA ditched the old white-on-black plates around the mid '70s in favour for the black-on-yellow...which have also been replaced.>Could be Westrail but again cowcatcher paint job should be orange(?)Orange is right!I'm being serious here, but this pic is quite intresting!...hehehe

Hi folksvery good chance that the pic is for real, but don't forget effects of the tele-lense obviously used in that one making distances hard to judge.Look at the shadow the car makes (to its left, both on the ground and on the bridge structure). There is circa at least a distance of twice the car's length between the Toyota and the engine.Btw: There is a shadow of the bridge on the car, just in the corner of the windshield and the hood on the passenger side. Again, tele lense effect, the spans of the bridge are not that close to each other to prevent the sun from lighting the hood in its entirety.I don't see any exhaust from the train, so my guess it is moving very slowly. A point also supported by the uneven track and the situation in general which would probably determine a speed limit of 5mph or 10kph on such a bridge. Assuming that the photographer was not there by coincidence but belongs on the second front seat of the car, there might also be quite an element of "posing" in that picture (which then would actually be the "stupid" part!).No clue as to the location. But from the numberboards and the brownish or dark yellow color of the engine it could very well be either South Africa or Zimbabwe. Yes I know ZNR engines are basically more yellowish in color, but the one in the picture doesn't look all too clean, anyway. Would match well with the driver sitting on the right, too, and the "Capegauge" NG track. (India also has a lot of NG, and driver seat on the right, but wouldn't the car then have to be one of these ubiquous Tata cars with the 1950s design?) What about working with the engine number as a clue to where it can or cannot be from? I'm sure there is a roster somewhere for Australia and New Zealand, and the SAR as well. Well, maybe a cause for Ronnie/"A Small World"Lukas a.k.a Swissie

Why do people always assume that this is a fake photo? The bridge, train and car are real. The bridge is one of 2 combined road/rail bridges on the Hokitika Branch, which is south of Greymouth on the South Island of New Zealand. I shot this in April 2000 Funny Pic – image 15Same train, same day, taken by my friend I was travelling with:http://www.railscenes.com.au/New_Zealand/pages/photo03_index.htmAnd a shot of the other bridge on this branch. I was driving and couldn't quite make it to the end of the train. (ever tried driving a campervan at 130km/h! Scary! )Funny Pic – image 16There are also 4 bridges of this type in the Pioneer Valley area near Mackay in Queensland, Australia, which are used by 2 foot gauge cane trains. Funny Pic – image 17And there is at least one used by Queensland Rail, which I think is on the Kingaroy Branch.David.Edit: Just noticed that the loco in the original photo is the same as in my shot. It's a DB class EMD G-12, built in Canada in 1965, and were rebuilt by Clyde in Australia in 1980. Now classed as DBR

ITS BROCK! Brock is the best
Actually...From the expression on everyone's face, I'd say Professor Oak is trying to figure out where the heck to go on the PO&N! It's hard to find your way around that windy thing. You wouldn't belive how many times I have driven off a siding, thinking I was still on the main. ------------------------------------------------------------

ZING! Nice one. Teach them pundits to doubt photographs.I've been over one of the Queensland bridges you mentioned - near Cairns. 2' gauge line on a single lane road bridge. Not as weird as seeing a 30 car freight train heading down a main street though . . .A thought: if that train were to break down, would the All-Black scrum be required to move it? Much as I support the Wallabies and would prefer to see the fellas from across the ditch loose, I fear you Kiwis will win the rugby world cup. Bugger.Funny Pic – image 29

"PO&N!? Think Seaview."Nuh uh, seaview is much easier. PO&N has so many tunnels, switches that I lose my way. You need to have signs pointing out the main. Ive tried finding it on the Activity Editor, but all I see is something that looks like a string ready to be pulled into a HUGE knot. I am not bashing the PO&N, I love it. I am merely stating that the main should be easier to find...like make it have bright blue rails or something
By the way Mike...Brock is my favorite HUMAN character, but as far as the Pokemon themselves...Arcanine all the way! ------------------------------------------------------------
