Most of the People on My Updates List know this but I lost my job on 6/28 (I quit do to 911 stress) I am going back to Driving over the road and will be leaving monday for god knows where - the A line will continue but on a more limited scale until I find a decent laptop that can run the REwell so now I will be running all 48 statesI will be around but out for 3-5 weeks at a time the route is still onIf anyone wants me to contact them or meet them while I am on the road please private e-mail me your phone #Jason Webb

Back over the road, huh? I will probally be doing the same once we get moved into New York in October. I did that for 5 years, and the road is still calling my name after almost 3 years off of it.Good luck, and keep your log up to date; don't want to give the DOT any more money than we have to.Chris Bogley

Yep, once you've been on the road, it gets into your blood, and you always have the craving to do it again. I used to do over the road bus driving....but then I got tired of the busy season with no days off, the slow seaon with no work....and not knowing where I'd be from day to day. So that's what got me back to driving the county transit authority buses. The pay is much, much better; there's benefits, and there's regular work/days off.

Good Luck to You. I know how you feel, although my move is spurred by a transfer by the company. After 43 years in California, I expect New York State to be a bit of a culture shock. I do envy your traveling through the 48, I will be flying over it late at night my final day in California, so the lifestyle change will be sudden and really spooky. And I would love to be able to see the things that you are going to see. Keep in touch, I gave you my address in NY and my phone number there in the private email here (the email they have on file for me is incorrect and I can't figure out how to fix it) should you find yourself in the Rochester/Fairport area. Guys I appreciate it - Got 8 weeks with a trainer since I have been out of the seat so long, then I will go to Lincoln, NE to do my orientation, then I get my own truck - I will definately look you guys upI will come home in 3-4 weeks for a few daysI will get a Century Freightliner with a straight 10

Funny, I have no desire to ever drive OTR again, had 4 yrs of it and never did it again. That was 10 yrs ago and dont want to ever think about that except maybe the nice tractor, in a small day cab w/ 48 ft trailer now for last 3yrs and I miss a large car under me. edit: prior to working this freight job I ran local trash walking floor w/ a pete 379 day cab with a 470 cat 10 speed RR. Boy do I miss that truck.Frank Roberts
