Attached is text from www.trains.com describing activity by BNSF to assist in fighting fires on Marias Pass. Might be a basis for an interesting MSTS activity scenario. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BNSF assists in fighting Montana firesFORT WORTH, Texas – Burlington Northern Santa Fe is helping fight the large wildfires burning out of control in the Glacier Park area of Montana with a fire train consisting of five tankcars filled with 68,000 gallons of water, providing back-up to protect railroad property, homes, and businesses. The train has been operating in the fire zone between Coram and Belton, providing water to fire trucks and filling 6000-gallon portable fire tanks placed at various road crossings. The railroad has also taken additional steps to be of assistance while working with the agencies fighting the fire, including constructing firebreaks by grading along rights-of-way to remove vegetation and providing telecommunications assistance to the emergency on-site command post.
