Hi MSTS has a double track tunnel (I dont think they use this in real life) which I like to use. Can anyone tell me where I can get a portal for two tracks. Or anything that I can use for the entrance of the double track tunnel.
Hi dispatcher,> MSTS has a double track tunnel (I dont think they use this in real life)Sorry to contest you on that a bit - no offense intended... Probably depends on where you live, but I travel on double track mainlines several times a week and all the tunnels are double track too, for it wouldn't make sense to have a bottleneck at the tunnels. Some are even two double track tunnels next to each other, e.g. on densly used mainlines with separate double trackage for passenger and freight, or express and local traffic. And for original question about the portals, at least as a starter idea: Both the default routes Europe1 and Europe2 use double track tunnels, and therefore also must have a matching portal somewhere in their respective folders. USA1 (default NEC) also has a double track tunnel near Baltimore, then Ohio Rail has a lot of double track tunnels, including portals... If the appearance of the portal does not match your project, try locating the respective ace file and repaint it. Somebody actually posted replacement textures for the Ohio Rails tunnel portals in the library a while ago, with additional soot. Just a hint.Lukas a.k.a Swissie
The WM had many double tracked tunnels. For example, Brush tunnel is still in use, but had the second track removed. The B&O also had a 4 tracked tunnel at Point of Rocks.mrWM734 HELP OUT THE B&O Roundhouse Restoration Fund at www.borail.orggroup project: B&O 1800's pack
many of the early tunnels were double tracked. The problem was, as trains got larger, the clearances got closer, so they tended to single track them and bore a second tunnel.Optionally, they could widen the tunnel itself, but that wasn't always a feasable plan. Depended if the tunnel was lined or not.
