RE: Major US Railroads

I agree, it is just that I see these cars on trains way up here, and that they are growing etc... There are so many railways in the United States it is just to hard to think, but I always just think of the 8 UP, BNSF, NS, CSX, CN, CP, KCS, FECChris Wilson

RE: Major US Railroads

Well, Yes there are more Class ones other than the big 6.But the big 6 are the most propurse rr's so they get the publicity while KCS, FEC sit in the shadows.
Altough everyone knows CN is best RR in North America

Well, for what it's worth..., I recently read (don't ask me where), but there is now only one remaining railroad in the US that is operating under it's original name..., that being the Union Pacific. But then just a week or so ago, I was reading a 'rest area' historic marker in Colorado (just east of Denver on 70) and it mention that the UP operated under a different name before becoming the UP. Interesting I thought.Oh well, for what it's worth.

RE: Major US Railroads

Hmmm - how about CP and CN???I always thought there was UP and CP (as in Central Pacific) merged to form UP back in the late 1800's.>Mike Forster<
