RE: MULTIPLAYER: Whitefish2 & Marias Pass, Friday July

LAST EDITED ON Jul-22-03 AT 00:46 AM (EDT)

Ok, to further explain the Whitefish situation. Once you arrive at either the west siding switch at Whitefish on the Kootenai River Sub or at the Whitefish crossovers at the east end of the yard on the Hi-Line Sub, you will be instructed to enter Whitefish yard limits on xxxxx track. When your entire train is inside the limits, will you then release the previous track warrant. Once inside these limits, you will be allowed to switch routes on to the other route and continue from INSIDE the Whitefish yard limits. There will be a limit of two trains in the yard limits on the main at all times. The limit of trains within the Whitefish yard is two trains. If we happen to be at the limit on both the main and yard, you will be instructed to hold outside the yard limits until space clears. Once ready to leave Whitefish yard limits, you must instruct the dispatcher in which whom territory you will be entering and tell him you are ready for departure. He will then give you a warrant out of the yard to the next location. Once your ENTIRE train is outside the yard limits, you are to INSTRUCT the previous dispatcher that you are clear of yard limits so if other trains are waiting behind you, they may have there turn to enter the yard limits.BTW, the multiplayer site may not be updated at this time. It will be once Brian gets it updated soon. Thanks!Any questions maybe directed to me at kcs2013@netscape.net Thanks,
Austin

Ok, since the Kalispell Sub is being operated as a seperate railroad there's some rules for it:All trains wishing to enter the system must contact the KANO dispatcher before entering our territory. As well before leaving our territory you must contact the BNSF Marias dispatcher for head clearance.Upon reaching dispatch you will either be given head clearence to a milepost reading, or you will be told to remain in hold. There is a posted track speed of 35 MPH over the entire line.Six axel GE units ABOVE a U-Boat are PROHIBETED due to weight distribution problems (That means no Dash-9s guys, leave them in the interechange wye)---I hope to have the KANO's website up before the next time we run on Marias.

I'd like to run a "Heritage Special" 3-4 car passenger train shuttle on the Kalispell Subdivision between Kalispell, and Columbia Falls, making stops at Kalispell, MP1223.81, S of MP1215.44 (at the end of Glacier Pk. Int'l Airport siding) and Columbia Falls.
from 7PM-2AM (or time permitting). This is to accomodate all passengers traveling to/from the Heritage Days:

8:00 AM
Columbia Falls, MT
Ends:

Come one come all! Events for the entire family! Boogie to the Bank 892-6800. 3-on-3 B-Ball 892-0681 or 892-2072. Parade 892-7100 or 892-2072. Craft Fair 892-7100 or 892-2072. Quilt Walk 892-3989. Mud Volleyball 892-7100.
=======================================================
If you don't have problems with this, I'll find myself some rolling stock.
BTW. I think there should be a main chatroom for people who need help with anything technical in additional to the organizational channel. Dispatchers should be able to get 15-minute breaks and alternate with the main chat/organizational channel operator to get some relief from everything . Anyone have any ideas on how to possibly operate this whole dispatching thing via the web?

Hi Line Sub notes: Trains leaving Shelby, use main 1 for Westbound to Cut Bank, 10mph at Piegan X-overs on Main 2. Trains waiting on Main 2 at Cut Bank, if you are going to block the grade crossings, you are required to have 2 crossings clear *those would be at the Amtrak station* Keep that one crossing clear.Main 1: Eastbound

BTW, for the BNSF Glacier Dispatcher: When I used to dispatch the Hi-Line sub I made sure all trains took the SOUTH track between the east switch at the Cutbank bridge and the Cutbank Crossover. The western most switch on the north track of the crossover STILL causes 'broken-coupler' problems. (e.g. so for westbound trains, have them take the south track at the cutbank crossover)CSXTSD80AC801: yes you do need to be online to do this. I don't see how train sim could kick you offline though?!?BNSF Boyer East Dispatcher / Whitefish Yardmaster

And just a side note. When you sign into TeamSpeak2, for the engineers, please use your lead locomotive ID for your nickname, for the foamers (observers), please use your real name or something similar to that so we may tell the difference between the two groups.Austin

From the Northwest Division HQ...

Just a note from the Northwest Division HQ, there will be a 10MPH slow order on the Kootenai River Sub between MP1298.1 and MP1298.2 due to the recent derailment. The maintainance crews are still working on the track but the main is open, thus the 10MPH restriction is necessary.Austin

UP571 to Kalispell Northern DispatcherJust a heads up I'll be laying over during my break (from :50 to :00) at the Kalispell main station track. If any freight trains need to get by, use the Kalispell pocket track. I will not be blocking any switches. Advise any trains to speed 15 MPH, sounding bells and whistles when passing the station.

I'm really sad to say it but looks like I cant join tonight either. Appears my MSTS discs have become too damaged to copy the game and I really don't have the money to buy a new copy right now Sorry guys, I was really looking forward to this. Next week I'm getting paid and I'll be purchasing not only MSTS but a new HD too so no more space problems again. I'll be listening in though hopefully.Looks Like a Pony MULTIPLAYER: Whitefish2 & Marias Pass, Friday July 25th – image 27 RUNS LIKE A STALLION

Hey ssw_96, that's fine by me, just so long as others aren't long as you (preferably under 8500 as we'd have some trouble finding long enough sidings for you).cdntrains

CALL SIGN: PC 4297 East
SUBDIVISIONS: Kootenai River, Hi-Line
RAILROAD/LEAD UNIT NUMBER: Penn Central E8A #4297
STARTING POINT: Bonner's Ferry Station
ENDING POINT: Shelby Station
TRAIN LENGTH: 1,210.46 feet
TRAIN WEIGHT: 1,087.43 tons
WORK ORDERS: None
PROJECTED JOINING TIME: 2200 Eastern
OTHER SPECIFIC INFORMATION: Long-range passenger excursion returning to the East Coast. It's highly unlikely that I'll complete this run, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways. I would, however, like to know if there's a raised passenger speed at some point; I'd hate to have to cross this distance at 60 MPH or less.

Sorry guys, the Hi-Line Sub dispatcher will be a few minutes late getting in tonight. We had a rookie dispatcher when our local went out today, which didn't have a clue about anything, along with UP sending 5 westbounds in a row down the Emporia Sub, so I am just stepping in the door.Austin

Good you had a fun time. Sorry I had to bug out so early, when I had just gotten home from working on the real thing, getting behind I computer and basically continuing what I was doing got real tiring. Future sessions are in the planning phase, but it sounds like everyone wants to take sometime off for now and enjoy summer while they can.Austin
