Heard this a few days ago on the NYSW list on yahoo, from what i read, Susie Q is ditching the B40's. Now i'm no expert but i know she'll be short on power now, so maybe those SD70's will be coming back

Yes, the lease is up on them and they will be unassing them to a leasing group i guess. I was fortunate enought to see one back in 2000 on a auto train, thats the only one I seen except for a ex NYSW SD45, but it was patched for the I&M RailLink. Wonder what will come of them?

Speaking of NYSW SD-70s, I caught one in Springfield, OH on 12 June. I'd never seen one before, so I braved the rain and took some wet pics. It was evidently an IORY train. Like I mentioned once before here, you should have seen that thing start pulling. It was lurching, straining, almost jumping off the rails getting that grain moving. The crew was hanging on for dear life, I imagine, because their heads looked like bobble-head dolls. Anyway, sorry for the poor light in the pics, but it was raining. I even had to use the flash on the close shots. Besides, crappy light has become my constant companion. Pop
I saw a GP38-2 on the point of a heavy local in a rain shower "fish tailing" trying to get a heavy local on the move. I know the crew felt like they were inside of a dryer. It was a sight to see. 2 GP38-2's and 2 Gp40-2's startin a 100+ car local in the rain.
Well i think the Dash-8's are goin back to CSX (because CSX gave teh Suskie the money to buy them(i think)) I just heard today that the 70's are goin for another 4 years. Looks like the main road power will be the Tunnels we recieved. Also anyone here about the derailment we had? Lets go CSX
