"But I 've been getting some weird emails saying open attached file...dad says there virus, and our neighbor opened, it, saved the attchment, and it is some MS DOS prgram ....hope they didnt get the virus."Hoping is useless at this point, he definitely has it, now it's just a question of how long before it trashes his system. Tell him to immediately download a virus checker if he don't have one, and scan the whole disk. The assholes who make and distribute viruses are getting trickier, if you try to upload or send an email with a .com, .bat. or .exe file extension, the filter kicks it out. Some filters are set up to only accept .zip, .gif, and .jpg. The latest scam is "from support@microsoft.com", and usually all it says is "details in the attachment". The attachment was a .pif, which is Windows "Program Information File", basically a shortcut to something else - usually a .bat, .com, or .exe. Lately I noticed they're using "whatever.pi" instead of "whatever.pif", I'm not curious enough to see how they did it, I just delete the message and the attachment goes with it.It's not always SPAM either, I got an email from somebody I know, heading "Submitted", and the body of the text was just "Please see the attached file." So I deleted it and sent him an email letting him know he has a virus, cuz that's how some of these "worms" work, once infected, before it destroys your system it tries to duplicate itself by sending itself as an email attachment to everyone in your address book.

RE: Interesting guestbook signing...

Mr. CPR_Malice_96th, I think you misunderstood me...the main question of this post is asking for a translation of those three words. It WASN'T an email, it was a guestbook signing on my website. The person who DID get an email with "Please see attached file" was my neighbor, and unfortunately she did d/l and open the attachment. I don't know anything has happened yet, but the program it was was a PIF attachment and when d/l was a MS-DOS program. Sorry for the confusion but thanks for trying to help!
Mr. rgh69, Thanks for the translation. Is kip really chicken? LOL, i wasn't aware of any feathers. Maybe this person dislikes me but likes my photos. lol, i don't even know who it is! Thanks for the help
