I recently downloaded the file bn7830.zip from train-sim and when I tried to use the new loco I got an error reading train database file for the file:trains\trainset\sd40-2bn7830\bn7830ai.eng.
I noticed that the folder for this engine has two eng files. one is just bn7830 and the other is bn7830ai. what can I do to fix this??

RE: error reading train database file

The only time you get train database errors is when there is an activity calling for an eng or wag file in a particular folder and it is not there. So what you have is a call for bn7830ai in sd40-2bn7830. As this is a nondrivable engine the consist calling it is inside of the activity file. Now, you have two choices. The first is to find the folder you put this engine into, and rename the folder to match the call. This however can cause more errors to arise later if you have already made consists using this folder name. The second choice, which is much better is to locate the activity file which is making this call and change the folder name within the activity file. You can find this by doing an edit/find from within wordpad once you have the activity file opened, looking for all instances of bn7830ai. The part next to it on the same line is the folder name and can be changed to what you have in your trainset folder.mervyn@madasafish.com
