For those of you in Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, here is the schedule of the special in case you don't already know it. The train will offer rides and fundraising opportunities for the Boys & Girls Club of each city visited. The power should be 2 C44-9Ws but that can change very quickly along with 13 business and passenger cars.5/30 Emporia, KS

For anybody interested, you can get tickets at your local yard office for $10 whether you are an employee or not. It's one of those things to where if you know about it, you can ride the train, if you don't, so on...Austin S.

My dad is an employee for BNSF, so I'm sure he'd have no problems in getting a ticket. I'll have to talk to him about it. Sure would be nice to ride it, but getting back to where we came from could be a problem.Jordan

Well, I just got back from today's trips. Went to Wellington in the morning for the employees and Topeka for the Boys and Girls Club using push me pull me service with a B40-8 at one end and a B40-8W at the other, both in BNSF paint (I totally forgot our engine numbers ).Both the trains were not too full, a lot of empty seats from what the crews back in the cars said. For being a hot day here I was surprised to see a lot of "foamers" out and about watching us go by (I even recognized Lloyd Stagner along the way for those of you who are Santa Fe buffs). I don't think you should worry about getting back, they should be roundtrips, but you never know with this railroad!!!I had a fun time, tomorrow will be even better, I'll be relaxed in the back this time!Austin S.

The Employee Special came into La Junta this morning. I went down to the depot and got some pics of it this evening, and I'll post the pics when I get the film developed.
Very sharp engines. I don't think I've seen any cleaner-looking engines that the ones on this special. Jordan L.

Cool! I'll look forward to the pics. I know they were nice and clean here, they just washed them the day before they went out on the road. It's just too bad they couldn't still be in Santa Fe paint. Oh well...Austin S.
