Everytime I go on an external view for just a little over 3 seconds, the game either 1) freezes on me 2) black screen 3)blue screen with a bunch of BS or 4)computer just restarts. I have a GeForce2 32MB video card and a 2.4 GHz P4 with 1 Gig of RAM.Don't know what could be causing this... I know it happened to a friend who had MSTS as well. Can anyone help? Maybe I can download an update somewhere? Thanks in advance.
RE: Having trouble with MSTS freezing... GRRRRRRRRR!
Press Start, Run..., type dxdiag, let directx diagnostic stabilize, select the Sound tab. In the middle of the page is a slider for sound acceleration, adjust up/down, restart MSTS and test after adjustment. If it makes no difference, return to full acceleration. While in directx diagnostic, you might test all the directx functions to see if you have a problem. I also recommend updating to the latest directx 9.0a from the MS update site, then retesting your directx functions. You might also need to update the drivers for your controller chips, graphics card, sound card.

Ok, I got DX9.0, installed it, ran it stock like that... The problem occurred, but later in playing, not instantly like usual. Went into the sound options, set the acceleration to the lowest level... played, it sounded like crap, the train derailed and then it froze on me. Then played it at standard, froze almost instantly. I'm very frustrated!
RE: Having trouble with MSTS freezing... GRRRRRRRRR!
You need to deal with the sound option in dxdiag, not msts. There is another possibility, for which you need a little thing called dxapplet. Do a search in Google or whathaveyou, for dxapplet, download and install it. Once you have it, run it and have a look at the tabs there should be one for directsound and this should have a debug level slider. Move this to the left and check out TS again. May or may not work, no guarantees.mervyn@madasafish.com

I suggest that you try the MS Knowledge base or do a Google search using the error message. It seems that there is either a driver or IRQ conflict on your system, and these would be the best places to go for more info.mervyn@madasafish.com
