I come to you with a problem; Upon talking to Bob about the Falls
Creek railroad, he has mentioned one person as someone who might
actually know something, but I'm looking for more resources. Here is
my dilemma:I have searched the internet using 10 different search engines, only
to find references to page about the coke industry and
the "Reynoldsville & Falls Creek RR" which isn't what I want. I also
found ONE picture, its of the CF7 #2471, still in SF colors at Falls
Creek, with another "repainted" CF7 behind it, but the angle prevents
me from seeing much detail. I would like to know as much as possible
about the motive power (pictures would probably be helpful),
buildings (again pictures would help), anything really, exactly how
far it ran (Did it go all the way to Rigeway?), and what day it
exactly started and ended, and jsut abotu anything else I can find.
I figured this may end up being a wild goose-chase, but I also
figured, Why not? So, If you know ANYTHING, can you give me a hand?
The railroad died out about one year before I was born, or one year
after....well, some where around then, either way I was too young to
remember, and I have gone through our books, and the only thing I
found was a picture of the ex-Conrail caboose that sat at Falls Creek
on the interchange for so long. This is just another one of the
possiblities of use I may make of my alloted space for a layout. I
am very familiar with the area, and the track bed has been turned
into a trail for the most part, so that won't be the hard part, the
engines and destroyed structures will be though! Again, if you can
help, Please do! --John NetzlofP.S. This was also posted on the GWI Yahoo Group.
