RE: Appeal For Calm My Rear End

Apparently Chris you don’t have a daughter, mine is 27. The thought of what can happen to them in Iraq makes me want to puke. Sorry about the “girl”, but my daughter will always be my little “girl”.Granted, they can do one hell of a good job, I think it was Chuck that posted a picture of an all girl crew of a KC-135 but to see them in enemy hands…..NO!!Support the troops, you bet 1000%! I didn’t agree with President Bush on this but now that it’s on lets go and get it over with and bring everyone home safe. Not to be a smart ars but “your not” should be “you’re not”. Next question?Kick butt and get home.Bob

>(note; when I alert you I tell you! I don't do it behind
>your back!) What on earth does this mean? I'm not bitchin' about the French, Germans or anyone else. I just don't think it's right to have girls, sorry, women in a position where they can be POW's or MIA'S. Maybe it's a guy thing but like I said earlier the thought of my little girl being in the hands of some Saddam freak just bothers me.Don't know what you mean about this alert thing but I wouldn't waste my time.Chuck, I saw a picture of a Chuck Schneider playing the guitar in Viet Nam, is that you and if so what are you singing?Cheers,Bob & O'Riley

The gender of the soldiers in Iraq doesn't matter a bit to me. Women should have just as much every right to fight in the war as men. As long as they can do their job, and do it well, they're fine by me.
But then again, I don't have a daughter, much less have one involved the war.Jordan

I am not sure what was intended with this post was ,BUTI watched an interview on CNN yesterday with a female USAF F-16 pilot on return from a mission over Iraq and NOTHING made me more happy than to see that there was a female fighter pilot.Later

Jordan <<Jordan, your last sentence says it all, "I don't have a daughter". When you do have a daughter, waiting for them to get off the school bus, getting home from a date, who's she with yada yada yada you will know what I mean.I was VERY surprised to see a F-16 pilot interviewed on CNN the other day to be a woman. I didn't think they could be in combat operations but what could be more combat than flying a F-16. WOW!Bob

RE: Appeal For Calm My Rear End

Actually, when I was on active duty 25 years ago, almost every Navy tugboat you saw had an all female crew, due to the fact that women were not allowed aboard warships and they had to put them somewhere. Women's Liberation has finally caught up to the military, so warships and combat assignments are no longer male only.My daughters are 26 and 29, neither has ever been in the military, so I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. I do have one niece (21 now, I think) currently in the US Navy, and my oldest son (31) is a reserve artillery sargeant, he served in Desert Storm. It's primarily a question of equality, Bob, equal rights means equal responsibilities, and sharing the same risks. Otherwise they're just pretentious second class citizens.

I think the concern is that Saddam has a rape squad on his staff (documented). He has no problem using them against his own people, so there's nothing stopping him from using them against P.O.W.s. BTW, as of this writing, CNN reports that all P.O.W.s may have been executed. S.O.B. must pay!

Nothing to do with trains probably. LOL!But anyway. Not so crazy. If life experience has taught me nothing else it's that the female of our species is generally more vicious, cruel, and cold blooded than us males. For a man, soldiering is a just a job. For a woman, being given a rifle, a job description that includes being able to shoot men, and getting paid for it too is probably a dream come true.
