Downloads on Kazaa

Hey all i was wondering if anyone would want to put there free-ware routes, engines, etc on KaZaA. I think that this would be a good and bad idea. It would be a good idea because you would be able to pause downloads and all of that and after you completed the download it would be in one central place. But it would be bad in the way that people copyrighted pay-ware matierial on it.

A Spyware tracks your surfing habits, personal information, and in the worst case passwords and credit card info and sends them back to the software makers. Then they'll sell it to survey/spam/etc. companies to earn money. (So nothing is really free after all!)

Kazaa <<< bad wordI've had to rescue more than one machine that has been "Kazaaed" Fortunately, Windows ME System Restore empowered me to save the day.My real question is however is this. What, pray tell is wrong with Train-Sim.com??? Are you familiar with download utilities such as Download Accelerator or Getright. These allow you to pause and resume downloading as primary features.

for spyware free file sharing get Shareaza ,,its clean!!I have over a gig of msts files in my sharing folder. Granted that msts files are not the most popular files on the web , but i have had lots of users get them ..

I've always been told stuff on Kazaa has been loaded w/ trojan horses...and loaded w/ spyware..used it once now i'm screwed w/ this stupid Gain-Adserver Software..it's pissin me off...so i'm gonna continue using the train-sim library

We have been pretty successful using a freeware program called SpyBot to remove all of the trash that creeps onto our systems here at work as a result of folks just having to try and load crap like Kazaa.Give it a shot it is very effective from what we have found so far.As far as file sharing software and the stuff here at train-sim.com, I agree with Kev and Chuck...not a good idea at all. Fork over the money for a membership if you don't like the restrictions of non-membership.

yea i know! I was able to get those cool TGV trains from speedworks and a couple of TA donationware engines!! all using Imesh.
i found some others but i already had them .

Hi all, AS a MAJOR user of Kazaa, I feel I am 1000% qualified to say this: DO NOT PUT ONE FILE OF MINE ON KAZAA OR I WILL REMOVE ALL OF THEM FROM TRAIN-SIM and KAZAA PERIOD!!!! (Shouting intended)I would tell EVERYONE who wants to do this, your CRAZY!! I have downloaded "pirated" copies of MSTS, Trainz, BF1942, etc, all with the same results. BAD programs! (ANd without the registry key, they are usless!!!)I also lost over 15000 (yep, thousand) JPEGs when I didn't have my anti-virus software in because of a bug. I downloaded a file and got the klez.I have had MANY hits since then from Norton. I just thank god it hasn't gotten past, or I would be screwed!Don't do it guys. Thats what train-sim is for. Kazaa is a russian roulette waiting to happen. Why do I use it then? Simple, I want the hard-to-find music and such. but I know ONE wrong file, and POOF!!! It destroys the hard drive. As far as the spyware, I wish I knew how to stop it. and I hope this banter about posting other places goes away soon!!!Kev, PLEASE don't let these peeps win!!! remember those are also avalable for download or anyone with skills

They download themselves without you even knowing they are there! Talk about your invasion of privacy! One of the newest, nastiest ones is Xupiter. It installs a toolbar on your browser and changes your home page to it's own specification. Nasty little critter this one is! I downloaded Spybot Search & Destroy which is an awesome program! It is a free tool to clean up spyware programs. It actually will scan your registry and clean out any spyware type programs/cookies/dll/etc....
It let me know that I had some crap from gator.com that I didn't even know was there. But anyway, if you find your internet browser changing your home page or excessive pop-up windows, chances are you may have some of this spyware garbage on your system! I also forgot to mention that this program only takes care of spyware once it has infected your system. In order to protect yourself from getting infected, up your security settings in your browser. I know from dealing with Xupiter that it installs through an activeX program, so I have disabled all activeX programs from running on my machine without consent!

We don't even like the FBI doing that with out a court order so why the heck would we want a couple of (figurative) "Used Car Salesmen" tracking our internet usage so they can "Target" us with "custom advertising" (think SPAM)?

I do agree that nothing from here should end up on kazaa. Guys that have talked about sharing stuff already please remove it. Do not screw us all by having the creators remove their works from here then you won't have anything. End these thoughts immediately please. All these folks ask is that everything stays here at train-sim .com. Is that too much to ask. If you want to destroy this community and this site go ahead but don't be surprised when everything here disappears and people remember you as the one who ruined everything.

one train-sim thing, the FREE Ddx40 is on kazaa.EDIT: and there is at least 10 different people on to download train sim stuff off of. Not the stuff anyone has made here however somonenamedchris - 12 year old person. I am the former somonenamedchris.
