There is a long established convention in the internet world which holds that typing in all capital letters is the equivalent of shouting at your readers. That is, yelling (not shouting to people a long way off). Many people will, therefore, take offence. I've even seen some people get upset at seeing a single work in all caps (done for purposes of emphasis). I think, though, that nowadays most readers would not be offended if you put one or two words in all capitals, when the context makes it appropriate to be placing emphasis on the capitalised text. By the time you get to an entire line of text, though, you have passed that point.Another good reason for not using all caps is that most people find it easier to read when the text is either all lower case (if you must avoid proper punctutation) or the must prefered normal text with capitalisation for the begining of sentences, proper nouns, etc. It's much more readable that way.Since it's quite easy to add simple html to posts (see the guide at linked to at the side of the posting box) you can easily add bold or italics, etc to your text when emphasis is required, and on the whole, it looks better than using all caps.CheersJohn
I normally do not time in all caps. It just got typed that way and I just never gave it any thought and let it go as typed. I hope I will be forgiven for this BIG error. Bill

I regularly appear on a couple of other forums (related to Lotus products), on one of which I have host access. On those we often see users who are new to the conventions of internet usage, and sometimes we get long posts in all caps. I've always assumed that those messages are from people who are new to the net and provide and explanation similar to the one I gave you. Very rarely do we have to repeat the message. In those rare cases where someone won't obseve the conventions, after they have been pointed out (tactfully, we hope) they often get ignored - no answer forthcoming.CheersJohn
