The B&O site has updated thier site with further news of what has been going on, as well as about 2 dozens photos of the damage to the displays inside. Truly tragic what has happened, but hopefully, all the damaged pieces can be restored. www.borail.org
RE: Photos and news of the Roundhouse collapse at B&O
The roundhouse was loaded with steam engines like one used in the movie 'Wild Wild West' and 'Back to the Future', and a railroad car that carried Abraham Lincoln's body in 1865. I think that car was smashed by the collapse.I'm sure they will get plenty of money when they have their Iron Horse Celebration this June and July. Their expected audience is 500,000 and up. My dad and I are planning on being one of those half million people. ------------------------------------------------------------I'll never let go of the railroad that inspired me to be involved with trains, the Union Pacific!John Ekhoff 15 yr. old Train Sim Reskinner from Abilene, Texas. RE: Photos and news of the Roundhouse collapse at B&O
The roundhouse contained the most historic pieces in a very impressive collection of railroad equipment. If you've never been to the museum it is well worth the trip. At least go to the web site and take a virtual tour, and if you're so inclined send a donation to help with the resoration. I already have.B&O Railroad Museum web site: http://www.borail.orgHere are some of my own personal photos of the roundhouse: http://www.train-sim.com/gallery/borail/
