this morning - before the weather turned bad... i saw 2 trains!! - this wasnt excpected 1. 2 unknown NR's on a Perth - Melbourne Stack train2. Q303 - in G&W Orange and Black - with ARG logos instead of AWR logos - and!!!! - alternating ditch lights and a pair of shrobe lights on the top of the cab! - it looked so cool - so much like the USA - apparently all ARG locos in WA have to be fitted with ditch and shrobes by the end of the year after some nasty level crossing accidentscheers

I believe the explanation for the lights on the ARG locos can be found by reading a report I THINK ARG conducted into level crossing visibility sometime within the last two years. The results were actually quite interestion and I could e-mail the report to you if you wanted.Projects
- 421 class Public Transport Commission of New South Wales diesel electircs:
Fuel & Air tanks - 95%
No. 2 end - 88% (Pilot details and number boards/headlights need to be added)
No. 1 end - 05% (Headlight & handrails are on)
Sides - 33% (frame work is up, about 1/4 of panels on)
Overall - 15.3%
- 422 class New South Wales Government Railways diesel electircs:
On the drawing boards for a project after the 421's.

that would be awesome thanks mate!! lol - it was quite a site today!! - have u heard the horns on the Q Class and or V544??? - they are sooooooo loud compared to other WA locos.the horn was blowing heaps at this little level crossing - ditch lights flashing - shrobes flashing on the roof! - exciting compared to 10 years ago where they just blew the horn once short and cruised over the crossing lol- i was chatting to a mate today - and the Q's and S's might be getting bells too!! lolcheers

Uhhm, yes, i know i am one of the great G&W conisours of this planet, by I am by no means a Mike Zollitsch (If you don't know, he's the king of all in orange and black) So, what does the ARG stand for? Austrailia Rail Group? What does it look like, and how does it differ from the AWR logo? Is it in the traditional G&W format (Circle with two yellow arrows)?

Why is there air?
