I've been running the new albula line recently when I noticed something very cool.Rounding a curve, I spotted a hiker standing in the tracks, right inside a tunnel. Expecting to have to explain why I hit the guy to management, knowing he wouldn't move, I decided that heck with it, I'd lay on the horn anyway. At least they would know I tried.Well, I laid on the horn and then blinked as the hiker turned, looked at me and ran out the tunnel, ending up standing 4 feet to the side watching my train pass.
OK Michael, HOW DID YOU DO THAT?

Nope, not made up. I'll get pics tomarrow Jon. Oh, I'm working on fixing the wheel issue with that mike. I got sidetracked with the spine cars
Edit:I think, what Michael Vone (creator of the Albula line) has done is just create a hazard for the hiker much like the deer. On one activity where you drive a crocodile locomotive pulling open air cars, there's six hikers around the station. They won't move unless you hit the horn or bell, and then they scatter. Similar to the deer, they move maybe six or seven feet before stopping. Though, sometimes this means they stop in the path of another train

RE: Hikers run for cover?!

That's right! BTW: they will move farther if you blow the horn again or continuously. The real question is: why didn't Kuju finish making those hikers mobile, just like the deer? They are almost mobile by default! It is one of those things that we can expect to see work in MSTS2!

RE: Hikers run for cover?!

Yeah, I noticed that. I gotta say man, that route is amazing! I simply love it.I love the moving hikers, shame you can't get ai trains to blow their horns since earlier I caused one hiker to run into the path of an oncoming train.

RE: Hikers run for cover?!

It's true, they DO run when you lay on the horn. I was surprised when I saw it too....but I noticed a LOT of humanbeings along the tracks of the Albula Line 2 here and there, a lot of them are just as dumb as folks here in the USA that stand halfway across a railroad trestle when a train's coming!!Of course, there's also one HUGE herd of deer along the Albula Line 2 in one of the activities. I don't think I've ever seen that many deer, except maybe on the Atlantic City Expressway when I used to drive tour buses on the east coast!!

RE: Hikers run for cover?!

Heh. I've seen that herd. Like the hikers, they scatter like roaches when you honk your horn. Oh, Michael, the strassburg street car looks really good on that route. (little 4 wheel german tram)

RE: Hikers run for cover?!

You know what would be cool, if someone did an old west route (hey the 4-4-0's don't feel at home on marias pass.) On that route there could be realy thick hords of cattle here and there, so when you come to one of those places you'll have to blow the whistle loooong to scair them away. That was very common in the old west./Jonatan
