Aug-24-01, 08:56 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Getting tired of this window" Hi,you can just rename DW.EXE to DW.DIS e.g. or even delete it. Then, on error, the train.exe just finishes without spoiling time loading this useless error analysis, which crashes anyway when you try to send it in.Daniel Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-24-01, 12:19 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Getting tired of this window" It doesn't actually crash. It just takes a loooooooong time to collect the data and send it. I'm using DSL, and if I tell it to send, it goes off into the void for 3-5 mintures, but eventually sends the error information and exits TrainSim. I figure if we bug Microsoft with this stuff enough they'll take it a little more seriously. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-24-01, 01:02 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Getting tired of this window" I can get the error report and have a look at it. The program stops running after pressing the send button. I think it's crashed, since I can't switch to another task nor can I use ctrl-alt-delete to stop it. I need a cold reset. If that's not a crashed program ...Daniel Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

As stated above it takes a few minutes. Granted, it appears to lock up your system. In fact it probably does since it's looking at everything that is or was running and gathering the info. Don't try to switch tasks, press keys or click the mouse in frustration, those actions will certainly lock you up. Give it about 5 minutes...go grab a coffee and collect your thoughts, eventually it'll send. I reported the apparent lock up through Assisted Support about 3 weeks ago and it was determined that we just have to be patient with it. I've even sent the reports numerous times when it comes up with the Editors. I'm not interested that MS claims the editors are unsupported. The fact that the error reporting tool comes up offering to send a report implies to me that support is there...just not assisted support. Send the error reports...eventually they'll get the idea that things aren't right.Stew Clark Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
